Congressional Republicans line up behind McCain call

While congressional Democrats, including Harry Reid, urge McCain to not return to Washington, the GOP nominee's colleagues line up behind the move.

In a coordinated move, the Republican congressional leadership has issued statements on McCain's decision.

"I strongly support Sen. McCain’s proposal for a bipartisan leadership meeting of both Houses of Congress, including Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama," said House Minority Leader John Boehner. "Given that it is only a few months before a new president takes the oath of office, it is vital that the next president play an active role in crafting this critical plan.”

Reid, McCain speak

A Democratic source says Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid just spoke to John McCain today, and told him on the phone that it "wouldn't be helpful" for him to return to Washington. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0908/Reid_calls_McCain.html?showall

Well that’s all the proof we need that it was the right move for McCain.

The next president is going to have to live with whatever decisions are made. McCain and Obama should BOTH be there.

Reid knows the result of McCains coming back to Washington to take a leadership road in these debates, and make no mistake, he WILL be front and center in the hearings.

Reid is so obvious in his actions here that it really is embarrassing to watch him.

McCain is doing the right thing. I watched him and he appeared to be a Statesman putting his country first. Obama really dropped the ball on this. John McCain has the right instincts on this. Create a real reform plan.

Please note: Last week when this crisis entered the presidential campaign, McCain brought up forming a bipartisin commission to address the issue. hussein responded a day later by saying that a commission was the same ‘worn out old failed technique’(my paraphrase). Well, well, well, guess what hussein said today...he said this committee was needed!!!! Instant commercial material Smitty!

Beat this bozo hussein with it and don’t be bashful to bareknucle his pie hole for the next 40 days!

Yup-—they are afraid the MAVERICK will emerge...lol...they are afraid that McCain will get tons of national airtime and be able to come up with a solution to the problem...while their “boy” says “its above my paygrade— but of you need me, ring my cell” LOL

Obama is an ineffectual buffoon.

BTW folks, this video from Fox news just came out today and it is an EXCELLENT report on the origins of this mess. I highly recommend that you watch it and pass it on to friends.

You are so right! Especially since just a day ago Reid was saying that they wanted to see what McCain would do on the issue-—they wanted to make sure they wouldn’t get blamed so they wanted Mccain on their side-—little did they know he would be there to tell them face to face! LOL

Besides the fact that Reid can’t stand McCain, here’s the dirty little secret on why it “wouldn’t be helpful” for McCain to return to Washington from the Rats’ point of view:

McCain’s return will for Obambi to return.

McCain will get to work and look like what he is-—an experienced lawmaker. Obambi will look like he’s trying to remember when the restroom is in the back-forty of the Hart Senate Office Building.

Not only that, when the parties come out with their statements and meet the press, etc., the Republicans will be more than happy and confident to line up behind John McCain. Because he’s a leader and knows what he’s doing.

The Rats will ABSOLUTELY HATE the fact that, after decades in Washington and tons of experience with dealing with the press, they will have to go out and meekly line up behind the gawky man-child as he tries to hem and haw his way through his first ever presser on a major piece of legislation. (Not only a major piece of legislation, but a mjor piece of ECONOMIC legislation.)

Hell’s Bells, the reporters are going to know more about the economic issues and their history than Obambi will.

Do Dodd, Frank, Reid and Pelosi want to hand over their mic time just to be gaffe-ed up by the “true freshman”?

NO WAY. That is what “wouldn’t be helpful.”

WOW, GREAT CATCH!

Since McCain is suspending ads too until this over, it’s time for those who can to make their own ads. At least YouTube vids.

Now if McCain will stop sounding like a democRAT lite and insist on conservative solutions such as:

Cut capital gains taxes to 0%, repeal Sarbanes-Oxley, and give Paulson about 150 billion to temporarily fund the credit markets, etc.. The free market will then pull the economy out of the pits.

While McCain works, Obama should at least return to put in his “Present” vote.
