Petrobras' Production to Top 3MM B/D in 2015

Petrobras’ Downstream Director, Paulo Roberto Costa, stated on Monday that the Company does not intend to be a major oil exporter, rather, to export derivatives of higher market value.

While participating in the "Integrating Oil Refining and Petrochemicals" panel, during the 14th edition of the Rio Oil & Gas, Costa guaranteed that in 2015 the company will produce, in Brazil and abroad, more than 3,000,000 barrels per day, 50% more than the 2,000,000 it currently produces.

According to the director, the refining capacity will be increased with the new units that are being built in Brazil. In the upcoming years, Petrobras will have five new refineries: Premium I (MA), with capacity to process 600,000 barrels of oil per day, Premium II (CE), at 300,000 barrels, the Guamaré Refinery (Rio Grande do Norte), 30,000, and the Abreu e Lima Refinery (Pernambuco), which will process 200,000 barrels, half of which coming from the Campos Basin, the other half in Venezuela. Costa included in this calculation the Rio de Janeiro Petrochemical Complex (Comperj), which will be able to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day.

The director said the Company will deliver the section between Ribeirão Preto and Paulínia, of the ethanol pipeline that connects Senador Canedo (Goiás) to São Sebastião (São Paulo), in 2010. "This project is expected to be ready in a couple of years and will probably deliver the section between Paulínia and Senador Canedo too," he said.

Costa also highlighted the investments made in ecologically correct fuels. "In our planning, we foresee investing $8.5 billion only in improving the quality of the gasoline and of the diesel fuel at the refineries,” he completed. According to the director, Petrobras’ goal is to produce fuels with less sulfur content, such as the diesel fuel with 50 ppm.

They drilled their way to oil independence. They want to dramatically expand refining capacity. They want to build 50 nukes. They are developing their oil shale.

Is there any chance of replacing Pelosi and Reid with some Brazilians?

Thank you.

We got power back this afternoon. We never lost water. The cell phone coverage in the neighborhood came back this morning. Local Schools will be out all week.

I lost some fence and a few shingles. We really got off easy compared to some; we feel blessed.

Thank God! My advise to you is purchase a generator and rig a 240v receptacle so you can back feed power thru your electrical panel. Also buy a small window A/C unit which will surprisingly cool much of your house under generator power. File a claim with FEMA which will reimburse you the cost of the generator.

After the double whammy of Frances and Jeanne four years ago, we were without power here for over a week. I was out searching for a generator daily until I finally found one at a Lowes miles from here in Melbourne Beach. No sooner got it fired up and FPL turned the power back on. How people lived in Florida without A/C is beyond me.

My CBS house is bullet proof now with Miami/Dade approved hurricane panels and braced garage door. I'm ready for a cat 4 but if it looks like a 5 we're gonna button it up and head for Michigan. The area around here has now recovered and back to better than new.

Galveston looks like a war zone now but in no time it will boom back much better than ever.

Cheers

A friend from Dallas got me a generator from his contracting business Sunday. We met in Centerville. I tripped my main and wired it into the main panel.

So we really made out okay. I think I'll will buy a little window unit for my garage and plan to use it as you describe if the need occurs again.
