Thank you.

We got power back this afternoon. We never lost water. The cell phone coverage in the neighborhood came back this morning. Local Schools will be out all week.

I lost some fence and a few shingles. We really got off easy compared to some; we feel blessed.

Thank God! My advise to you is purchase a generator and rig a 240v receptacle so you can back feed power thru your electrical panel. Also buy a small window A/C unit which will surprisingly cool much of your house under generator power. File a claim with FEMA which will reimburse you the cost of the generator.

After the double whammy of Frances and Jeanne four years ago, we were without power here for over a week. I was out searching for a generator daily until I finally found one at a Lowes miles from here in Melbourne Beach. No sooner got it fired up and FPL turned the power back on. How people lived in Florida without A/C is beyond me.

My CBS house is bullet proof now with Miami/Dade approved hurricane panels and braced garage door. I'm ready for a cat 4 but if it looks like a 5 we're gonna button it up and head for Michigan. The area around here has now recovered and back to better than new.

Galveston looks like a war zone now but in no time it will boom back much better than ever.

Cheers
