LET'S talk Mommy Wars, double standards and the media elite. Last Friday, Howard Gutman, a member of the Obama campaign's National Finance Committee, attacked Sarah Palin's ability to be a good parent while having a high-powered public life. In a finger-wagging appearance on the Laura Ingraham radio show, the Obama operative scolded the GOP mother of five for not putting her professional career on hold.
"Your responsibility is to put your family first," Gutman lectured as he singled out Palin's Down Syndrome baby and pregnant teenage daughter. "The proper attack is not that a woman shouldn't run for vice president with five kids, it's that a parent, when they have a family in need . . . " should get out of the public sphere and stay home.
Countless Obama hacks and sympathetic pundits have proffered the Gutman standard. Damningly, it's high-powered working mothers in journalism who are helping to broadcast the anti-Palin slams or declining to defend her.

The high-profile women in the MSM will not go to Sarah’s defense because Sarah is the antithesis of what the MSM women (i.e., liberal feminists) hold dear: Abortion without question, and on demand; draconian gun-control; the Nanny-state. In Sarah Palin they see an existential threat to their movement and agenda. Thus, not only will they not come to Sarah’s defense, they will actively work with the rest of the left to destroy her.
Typical liberal hypocrisy. They say you can do anything... right up until the moment that you actually do it. Gutman is a putz.

Remember what a big deal they made of her “multitasking” while holding a grandchild?

Wait a minute. Palin has one son in the Army a daughter about to get married so she has three at home and her husband is a full time “House Dad”. The Palins have one more than the Obamas one of whom has been holding down a lucrative job while her husband is in the US Senate. Which of the Obama parents has been looking after the Obama children full time. Or is the UC job just a pretend job?

...And the double standards don't just stop at the Boob Tube; sadly there are even some women, though not as high profile as Couric, Brown, and Viera, who are saying identical things, that also happen to have careers, marriages, and children.
WTF?!
I'll say this much: If these ankle biting snipers keep up their endless attacks on Palin's character, competence, and family, not only will the Election be a referendum on Senator Obama, it will also be a referendum on the Mainstream Media.
And unlike the media uber babes, Sarah didn’t sleep her way to power, either on the “casting couch” or by marrying a rich and/or powerful man. She didn’t even come from money and attend an Ivy League school....the horror! She’s an ordinary woman who did it ON HER OWN!
