NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - In a week of records surrounding the Republican National Convention, Fox News Channel earned another one with its weekend documentary on vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
"Sarah Palin: American Woman" averaged 2.7 million viewers in its debut at 8 p.m. ET Saturday night, Nielsen Media Research said Tuesday afternoon. That included 673,000 viewers in the adults 25-54 cable news demo.
Nielsen said it was the highest-rated primetime documentary ever in the 12-year history of the channel, surpassing high-rated ones recently about Barack Obama and Palin's running mate, John McCain. "Barack Obama: Character & Conduct" averaged 2.3 million viewers for its mid-August Monday showing in the 8 p.m. "O'Reilly Factor" time slot while "John McCain: Character & Conduct" the following night in the same time slot averaged 2.6 million viewers.

Imagine that! People love a show about a hard-working, Patriotic American who lives by her morals.
It was an interesting program because the people interviewed in Alaska from the Governor and on down, were all so unassuming, normal, practical and fresh
Talk about a change from Washington DC!
Yet another indication the Palin choice was a home run!
Anyone heard if this will be re-run, and if so when?
I didn’t know about this or would have watched it.
I would take exception to the word “Wins” in the headline. Earns would be more to my liking. You win an award, usually based on any number of things, most of which are quite subjective. You come out on top in the ratings game by getting the most number of viewers, a much more objective measure.
