I am very sorry to say I know every one of these entries... except perhaps the Michael Moore one.
(((sigh)))
I really waste too much time here.

And to reiterate, this is not an attempt to collect a list of Alpha Freepers what ever the hell that means.
***The term was once the first thing defined in the lexicon, but batter removed it from the 2008 lexicon... I wonder why?

Fifth Edition of The Lexicon of FreeRepublic, culled from the original thread and subsequent editions. Thanks to the many Freepers who contributed!

I think I know what happened. When I posted the 2008 Lexicon I had to change some headings and add in some new entries above "Alpha Freeper". I'm betting I screwed up and, unknowingly, had "Alpha Freeper" selected when I hit the delete button and replaced the old text.
Phew. I have restored the entry on my profile page and will be more careful next time.
After further review, I lied. Apparently the entry was missing from when I “stepped in it” and started updating the lexicon (in 2006). IOW, I don’t know how I messed up and lost the entry. Thanks for restoring it.
I will add this to my help for newbies page thanks for the hard work.
Don’t forget “’98ers”. That’s a term being used frequently on FR these days!
Keep up the good work!
The FReeper in question recently pointed out the origin of this one:

She now goes by another handle, but I'll let her follow-up with her new one, if she chooses.
The saga of ‘Jim Thompson’ needs to be added to this list ASAP!
The 2009 FreeRepublic Lexicon (Lingo, Dictionary, Lore Handbook) - UPDATE TIME!
The entry is on post#63.
Big time - see Clymer
Bitter Clinger - Anyone who cares about the Second Amendment, religion, and immigration law and doesn't turn to big government to solve personal problems. References a closed-door fundraiser speech he gave to elites in San Fransisco where he stated (regarding small town Pennsylvanians and economic hardship): "...So itâs not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who arenât like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations..."
We've been signing the same song for a while now...
