ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Sen. Barack Obama's foes seized Sunday upon a brief slip of the tongue, when the Democratic presidential nominee was outlining his Christianity but accidentally said, "my Muslim faith."
The three words - immediately corrected - were during an exchange with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on This Week, when he was trying to criticize the quiet smear campaign suggesting he is a Muslim.
But illustrating the difficulty of preventing false rumors about his faith from spreading, anti-Obama groups within one hour of the interview had sliced it out of context and were sending it around via email. They also were blogging about it.

If the situations were reversed, there is no possible way I would never mis-speak about my Catholic faith. I can’t believe he actually mis-spoke and said “My Muslim Faith”. That is much more than a slip, you can be assured of this. You don’t mis-speak about such personal things, under any circumstances, national TV or not.
Obama seems to be his own worst enemy.

But how often would anyone make a mistake of this sort. How often would anyone say, give the wrong home town, or give the wrong place of birth, or give the wrong college from which they graduated, or give the wrong religious faith they follow?
There are some things that people almost never slip up on and give an incorrect answer, because the correct answer is so ingrained and automatic.
This time, I doubt McCain will tell his followers to leave this issue alone. It's gonna be real difficult for him or anyone to explain the context in which The Unibama said those three words.

Note, however, that in its “corrected” state (”your Christian faith”), the statement makes no sense. He did, indeed, say what he meant the first time around, before the Greek Geek tried to cover for him, and there ain’t no way getting around it.
He'd say, "Sorry fella, I can't help. You got problems that cannot be cured."

Oops. I think this has more to do with some kind of internal struggle he’s having within his own conscience about his Muslim background and current beliefs. Frankly, no matter what his faith, his stance on issues is appalling and he’s got no experience at all.

That’s how I think as well. I think that some parts of our lives are too entrenched into our psyches. That’s why I think he’s having an internal struggle within his soul about who he is.
I’d say half the American people knew from the beginning

“WHO SENT HIM” is now getting out to the rest of the people (who do care).

Followed by Obama correcting Stephanapolis and bringing it back to the point of George's original question, and admitting that McCain has never claimed that he has Muslim connections. You have to listen very carefully, because BHO says it almost under his breath. Listen for it.
Zerobama's point is that 'right wing blogs' have made the claim that he has Muslim connections. He tried to tie those unnamed websites to McCain but Georgie wouldn't let him get away with that, so he finally had to admit McCain had nothing to do with making those claims.
That's what it was all about. It wasn't about the truth or falsity it, only the fact that the claims have been made and he was forced to admit McCain didn't do it.
But just the other day he (BHO) had claimed that McCain had done just that, so what Georgie did was to get him to admit he had made a false claim against McCain.
That should be the noteworthy point to make, IMO.

The difference is that Obama doesn’t have any sincerely and deeply held religious belief. The faith he claims to have is a political convenience, intended to gain him votes in various elections.
I do not think his is muslim, nor christian, I think he just went to that church to be in the club he had to be in to climb the political ladder.
He probably slipped because he was taught muslim stuff as a kid and it is more a part of him then he lets on.
I do not think this guy is religious at all myself.

I’d go along with that assessment ,, especially as the “christian” (intentional small “c”) church he attended preaches hatred for everything that makes America great and runs a hospital at which infantacide is a normal procedure.. must make drawing a distinction difficult for such a peabrain ,, can’t see the bigger picture that he constructed a choice for himself between 6 of something and a half dozen of the same.
