This is interesting. A couple of good nights at the GOP convention and there should be a nice bump - for us.

Its a poll of registered voters. If she does her job tonight and McCain does his tomorrow, I know we're gonna win the election. I don't care what the polls say!

From 50-42 (8 points) to 49-43 (6 points) after all the Palin crap. Yet they say he is “maintaining”-lol

Somehow, they are reading Obama too high I think.

They admit the poll does not reflect the convention. So before the GOP convention even happens, the dems only have a 6 pt lead.....lol-some bounce Obama....

Between the convention and the debates, it actually looks really good. It’s gonna be down to the wire, but I think things are in our favor from here on out. Game on.

I expect continued erosion from now until November. I don’t know what kind of bounce McCain/Palin will get from the convention but even if it is modest it will close the gap to at least a statistical tie and then as the electorate sees and hears more of Barack Hussein Obama and whoever it is that is running with him his numbers will drop and drop and drop. Look for McCain/Palin to win by 4-6 points in November.

And look for Republicans to pick up seats in the legislature.

I’m already feeling better!!!!!!!!!!!! With all the Palin crap we are only down 6 and Plain and McCain haven’t taken the stage yet!!!!! Plus we don’t know if there might be blowback yet by people disgusted with the media.

Not a gain per se. Better sampling. The Republicans came home after Labor Day, unpacked the SUVs and were answering the telephone again.

Also this is "registered", not "likely" voters. If Sarah Palin gives a half-decent speech tonight (ie. anything above the Dan Quale threshold), we should see a bounce.

We shouldn’t get hung up on national polls.

We should just keep our eye on 3 STATES to see who wins this election:

OHIO
PENNSYLVNIA
FLORIDA

Whoever takes 2 of these 3 will win!

I LOVE it!!!! Just made my Day!! Cannot wait to see how we soar after tonight and after McCain tomorrow!!!!

The onslaught of the MSM on Palin is going to backfire and the tide is turning. Enough already.

I believe you’re right. I think 5 to 6 is a perfectly plausible margin of victory for our ticket.

Looks like the last three days in Gallup sample were:
Sun: Obama +5
Mon: Obama +11 (Labor day + Gustav landfall)
Tue: Obama +3

This is a rough estimate of course, hard to get exact data by looking at a 3-day average. But definitely Tue was much better than Monday. A couple of decent convention speeches, a good interview or two by Palin, and it can go back to even within a week.

Ras tracker also tightened today, last three days can be guesstimated as +4/+10/+2 for Obama, same story as in Gallup.

I’m glad to see Barack under 50%. He needs to stay there. Hopefully, McCain and Palin will help him step down and stay there.

If Sarah Palin gives a half-decent speech tonight (ie. anything above the Dan Quale threshold),

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm............

How about anything above an Al Gore threshold?

Dan gets picked on enough already, specially by the left loons.

I expect continued erosion from now until November...

I do too... expect this erosion to happen as the various pollsters switch their operations from normal push-polling in-the-tank-for-'Rats to the pre-election-reflect-the-actual-voter-vote approaching Nov 4.
