TIMES INVESTIGATATION REVELS BIDEN FAMILY EMESHESED IN DC MONEY GAME
LA TIMES ^ | Andrew Malcolm

Posted on 09/02/2008 5:00:47 PM PDT by Paul Revere 76

The family of Joe Biden, who will be officially nominated as the vice presidential candidate of the Democratic Party's 'reform Washington' ticket with Barack Obama Thursday night, appears to be enmeshed in the same D.C. money game that Obama denounces.

One of the senator's sons -- Hunter, a Washington lobbyist -- and the senator's brother, James --received a $1 million investment in their purchase of a hedge fund company from the senator's largest political donor, an Illinois law firm, SimmonsCooper. The brother and the son subsequently repaid the $1 million to the law firm, which specializes in representing asbestos victims.

At about the same time, the firm also steered dozens of asbestos litigation cases to a Delaware law firm where the senator's other son, Beau, worked before moving on to become elected attorney general of the state of Delaware. Beau Biden is credited with acquiring the Illinois client for his firm whose long time managing partner describes himself as a Biden family friend

They are just doing this now to provide cover. 1)See, we attacked Joe’s kids too. 2)But since kids are off limits, we can’t talk about it unless we are hypocrites.

"Emeshesed? Enmeshed?" Isn't that the same as “Ensconced”?

Biden is the quintessential Washington insider. Lived within 250 miles of DC his entire life.

I want Joe to stay! We might get Hillary instead.

Do you want to listen to that shrew for two months?

This is a month old blog post on the LA Times.

If Biden were a Republican, it would be front page news for weeks. We all know that is not the world we live in though.

And then for four years as she earns a spot as the loudest, most
publicity-hounding VP on record!!!

I pray Biden "stays the course" as VP candidate!!!

And we should be surprised that the Democrats up are to their arses in lobbyists?

If journalists were proctologists, they would be having a field day with this. Oh, “let the laugh shine in”.

Unfortunately, most mainstream media journalists are so far up the Demos asses that it would take a team of proctologists with a searchlight to find them up there.

Does Biden remind you of anybody?

During his fifth year as Vice President, in the late summer of 1973, Agnew was under investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s office in Baltimore, Maryland, on charges of extortion, tax fraud, bribery, and conspiracy. In October, he was formally charged with having accepted bribes totaling more than $100,000, while holding office as Baltimore County Executive, governor of Maryland, and Vice President of the United States. On October 10, Agnew was allowed to plead no contest to a single charge that he had failed to report $29,500 of income received in 1967, with the condition that he resign the office of Vice President.

Agnew is to date the only Vice President in U.S. history to resign because of criminal charges. Ten years after leaving office, in January 1983, Agnew paid the state of Maryland nearly $270,000 as a result of a civil suit that stemmed from the bribery allegations.

Because of him I am sceptical of all politicans who hail from east of the Mississippi River.

Actually Biden is not a bad looking guy - reminds me both in looks and voice of Stewart Granger.

Yes, I'm that old!
