Annenberg documents show extensive contacts between Obama and Ayers
American Thinker ^ | August 27, 2008 | Rick Moran

As we wait for the press and others to go through the thousands of documents related to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge where Barack Obama served as President of the Board and terrorist William Ayers headed up the operations arm, we can say for certain that Obama is a liar of the first magnitude.

Barack Obama made it appear in public statements that he barely knew Ayers. Here is what he said at the Philadelphia debate in April about his relationship with the terrorist:

This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English in Chicago who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He's not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis. And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn't make much sense, George.

And here's what the Annenberg docs show so far:

The UIC records show that Obama and Ayers attended board meetings, retreats and at least one news conference together as the education program got under way. The two continued to attend meetings together during the 1995-2001 operation of the program, records show.

"Not someone I exchange ideas with on a regular basis?" Assuming he had private meetings with Ayers in addition to the public ones, one could easily conclude that Obama did indeed "exchange ideas with Ayers on a regular basis."

I'd like to know when the last time he talked to Ayers, the last time he saw him. Does he have a role - even an unofficial one - in the campaign?

Obama is going to have a lot of explaining to do - if he ever has a press conference.

And why not?? The Obamas are the product of far left radical Chicago politics, so a collaboration with Ayers makes perfect sense.

Did you realize that Michelle Obama near-quoted Saul Alinsky in her speech the other night??

Google that name and read...

And this is the spider web he's all tangled up in. Great article post Zakeet.

When the press said there was no “smoking gun”, they simply meant there was no revolver in there, or at least not one that had been recently fired.

Either that, or they are getting paid to lie for Obama. Its one or the other.

There is no smoking gun like there were no WMD’s in Iraq!! And it will be repeated by DBM the same way. If they say so, it is so, or so half the country seems to believe.

I hope and pray the Republicans don't let them get away with like they have the misinformation on the WMD’s.

$100 million was spent with no discernable effect on educational outcomes, we know that. But you don't throw around that kind of cash on "community leadership building" efforts, without creating a *clientele*. The base Obama built on for his political career, was the activists he handed other people's money to, working with Ayers.

People know who Ayers is by now in terms of the weatherman activities. Fewer realize what a wheel he was in Chicago politics or understand why. Ayers' father was the chairman of Commonwealth Edison, the biggest utility and one of the largest companies in the state. And a close ally of Daley the elder. When Ayers spoke about revolution being all about killing the rich and your parents, he meant his dad.

The reason he got off for all the terrorism was, superficially, supposedly tainted wiretap evidence. The real reason was more like, he was too rich and powerful to touch, and had a license to murder. He was the perfect example of the guilty rich kid, and he adopted communism and went slumming around Chicago as a way to be cool. All the while, his family's power and money was still protecting him.

The blacks of Chicago got the role of the a Marxist proletariat in this little leftwing fantasy drama. Ayers was going to come down out of the power structure and side with them and lead them forward to revolution and victory. Authenticity schtick demanded proof of radicalism from Ayers through his embrace of violence, and it demanded in turn of him, that he use self appointed black leaders as spokesmen and proteges for his radicalism.

So don't try to tell us Ayers is just some whacked out professor who happens to live next door in Hyde Park. He is a rich, powerful, lifelong communist organizer with legions of toadies and fronts doing his biding, to this day.

Then there's this from 2002:

The Center for Public Intellectuals & The University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC)
April 19th-20th, 2002, Conference

[Participants include: William/Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Sen Barack Obama]

April 19th-20th, 2002
Chicago Illini Union
828 S. Wolcott

This conference is part of the Center's mission of helping to create a more engaged civil society, working towards social change, fostering coalitions between theorists and activists, and combating anti-intellectualism in contemporary culture. It will be both a celebration of ideas and a rigorous examination of the roles and responsibilities that intellectuals play in society.

I. Why Do Ideas Matter? (a keynote panel)

We introduce the “meta” theme of the conference by hearing “success stories” from diverse voices discussing their experiences intervening intellectually.

Timuel Black, Chicago activist; Prof. Emeritus, City Colleges of Chicago
Lonnie Bunch, President, Chicago Historical Society
Bernardine Dohrn, Northwestern University Law School, Children and Family Justice Center
Gerald Graff, UIC, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
Richard Rorty, Stanford University, Philosophy

III. Lunch and Public Encounters

Alternative breakout tours led by Chicago activists. Tours of Bronzeville and other communities, and visits to organizations that are working on partnering theorists with activists.

IV. Intellectuals in Times of Crisis
Experiences and applications of intellectual work in urgent situations.

William Ayers, UIC, College of Education; author of Fugitive Days
Douglass Cassel, Northwestern University, Center for International Human Rights
Cathy Cohen, University of Chicago, Political Science
Salim Muwakkil, Chicago Tribune; In These Times
Barack Obama, Illinois State Senator
Barbara Ransby, UIC, African-American Studies (moderator)

Why not hear from Ayers. Why isn’t someone interviewing him? Or are we to believe that every blood relative, minister, professional colleague, state senator, community activist, high school classmate, college classmate and law school classmate of Obama’s is indesposed and unavailable for comment? Jez, just how big is the closet in that mansion Resko bought for you?

During the April 16 debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, moderator George Stephanopoulos brought up “a gentleman named William Ayers,” who “was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that.” Stephanopoulos then asked Obama to explain his relationship with Ayers. Obama’s answer: “The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense, George.” Obama was indeed only eight in early 1970. I was only nine then, the year Ayers’s Weathermen tried to murder me.

We need to get copies of these 140 boxes scanned and out onto the internet community. The “pajama bloggers” will scour every inch and find whatever is there.

Oh, THAT Bill Ayers. The guy I collaborated with in the same office for six years? I can hardly remember him. I saw him around once or twice, I think.

"...William Ayers,” who “was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that..."

Not only didn't he apologize,...

Bill Ayers TODAY (April 6, 2008), from his own red communist star-headed website, begging to debate communism vs capitalism with Sean Hannity and STILL calling for revolution!

"Imperialism. I’m against it, and if Sean Hannity and others were honest, this is the ground they would fight me on. Capitalism played its role historically and is exhausted as a force for progress: built on exploitation, theft, conquest, war, and racism, capitalism and imperialism must be defeated and a world revolution—a revolution against war and racism and materialism, a revolution based on human solidarity and love, cooperation and the common good —must win.

We begin by releasing our most hopeful dreams and our most radical imaginations: a better world is both possible and necessary.

Surprise! Surprise! He was of course fully involved with Ayers. That was his job as head of the Foundation that Ayers created. Now..he was just as involved with Rezko and crew. Let’s hear some more about that curruption as well.
