Fear grips immigrants after Miss. plant raid

Aug 27, 6:16 AM (ET)

By HOLBROOK MOHR

LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - A day after the largest single-workplace immigration raid in U.S. history, Elizabeth Alegria was too scared to send her son to school and worried about when she'd see her husband again.

What KIND of immigrants could they possibly be...?
Could they possibly be ILLEGAL?

Ahh...the douchebag media, you can always rely on them to distort the truth to push their agenda.

If they’re “immigrants” they have nothing to fear. If they’re illegal aliens they need to hide in mexico.

One worker caught in Monday's sweep at the plant said fellow workers applauded as immigrants were taken into custody. Federal officials said a tip from a union member prompted them to start investigating several years ago.

Wow...I wonder if the grand poobahs of the AFLCIO are aware how their membership feels about the illegals?

"They got handled like they were criminals."

That's because they are, young Mr. Velez. That's because they are.

They got handled like they were criminals.

I may be a little fuzzy on the definition of "criminal", but it was my understanding that if you broke the laws of the land that you would be considered a criminal...

"We have kids without dads and pregnant mothers who got their husbands taken away," said Velez's son, Robert, youth pastor at the church. "It was like a horror story. They got handled like they were criminals."

In other words, they were handled correctly, "Pastor".

"They didn't send their kids to school today," he said. "How scared is that?"

Their parents are here ILLEGALLY. They brought hardship upon their kids by willingly violating the laws of this country. Every square inch of blame should fall on them - no one else.

The local sheriff wins on ‘deport now’ ... How cool is that, laws are made to be enforced.

Things got a little dicey when an illegal shot and killed a young sheriff deputy Widman, people seemed to get the hint that illegals need to be deported — Before more are dead.

Huh? Did he have a "Nancy Pelosi" moment when he said this? They are freaking criminals, no matter how much spin you put on it.

I want my fellow FReepers to give credit to the Bush administration! Bush has been bashed mercelessly on this board for his immigration stance, even being called "Jorge" Bush. Unlike past administrations, including Reagan's, this administration listened to the base and without any announcement or fanfare they began systematically enforcing the country's immigration laws. The effect of this reawakened enforcement activity is having a dramatic affect. Those who are here legally have no fear whatsoever. Those who are here illegally are terrified.

My very soon to be ex-Mother-In-Law is a US citizen who moved here from Mexico. The last time I saw her, she was trying to use the “They aren’t really criminals!” line on me and I asked her how I would be treated if I went into Mexico without a passport and tried to work there. She said, “Well, that’s completely different!”

Under the law, a company found guilty of employing illegal immigrants could lose public contracts for three years and the right to do business in Mississippi for a year.

No charges yet. It will be interesting to see if the REAL criminals - the employers - get nailed, their wrist slapped, or a wink-wink-nudge-nudge.

Substitute tweaker or pot grower, pornographer, or bank robber- getting caught doing something illegal can disrupt your family, send dads or moms to jail while kids remain outside. And induce fear in the tweaker, pot grower, bank robber, pornographer community that you may be next!

Crime is risky, don't try it if you are unprepared to pay.

“She said no company executives had been detained, but this was an “ongoing investigation and yesterday’s action was just the first part.”

When video reports of managers and executives being marched off in handcuffs become common, then we’ll see a dramatic decrease in the employment of illegal aliens.

What a pity there haven’t been any from this raid.
