In Tennessee McCain Leads by 24
Rasmussen Reports ^ | August 22, 2008

John McCain now leads Barack Obama in the Volunteer State by twenty-four percentage points in Tennessee. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the Volunteer State shows McCain with a 56% to 32% margin. That’s essentially where the race stood in April although Obama managed to close the gap to fifteen points in June, shortly after wrapping up the Democratic nomination.

When “leaners” are included, McCain now leads Obama 60% to 35%. Leaners are survey participants who initially indicate no preference for either major candidate but indicate that they are leaning towards either McCain or Obama.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) say that most reporters are trying to help Obama win the election while just 9% believe the media is trying to help McCain. These figures are similar to the national average. Another recent survey found that most voters see media bias as a bigger problem than large campaign contributions.

Wow, McCain is doing even better that Bush ever did. I guess The One isn’t going over well in the border states.

Davy Crockett would be proud. Now, McCain needs to promise to do what would make Davy Crockett proud!

ROFLMAO! That is not good news to the anointed one. Tenn. has a lot of black folks. I hope it’s accurate but but something tells me it’s not.

Gore was not perceived as being as extreme as Obama. Gore didn’t go completely off the deep end until 2003.

A 24 point spread is gigantic for Tennessee. For comparison, in 1984 Reagan won by 16.25%.

If this poll is accurate, Obama may have to scrap any thoughts of stealing a southern State.

The Osama Obama and Obama bin Biden gang seem to think they are going to win Georgia. The liberal hell of Atlanta is like Seattle, the big dog in a state that has lots of rural areas. Columbus, GA, with Fort Benning next door has thousands of military retirees and family members, but even that cannot off set Atlanta. Columbus is the 2d largest GA city.

The only Southern state that Obama is even bothering to campaign in is Georgia. Pretty stupid, if you as me. Can’t win without the South, and he picks a Yankee.

McCain leads by 13% (56%-43%) with a 63% favorable rating. Obama's rating is just 44%.

Liberal Atlanta (AKA downtown/South Fulton County, West Dekalb County) are indeed ‘liberal’.

But Cobb and Gwinnett and Cherokee and Hall etc etc are not gonna go for Obama. The 20 or so counties that make up ‘Atlanta’ will go majority McCain in the general election.

Not to worry.

Despite what you may suffer through by reading the Atlanta Journal Constipation, the Atlanta area is not really like Seattle. The AJC folks never get outside the perimeter.

It won’t be as wide as Nixon’s win in ‘72 (when McGovern didn’t even get to 30%). Obama may carry a smattering of rural diehard rodent counties here and there, probably my county (Davidson) and Shelby (Memphis), but the other 85 or so counties will likely go for McCain.
