In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document's authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is "fake."
We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

You be the judge. Let us hope the court that will be hearing this case, has the objectivity to insist on true verification of whatever Obama's attorney will be presenting....keep the popcorn handy. Knowing the Clintons as we do, I don't see how they could let this opportunity get away.....
Well FactCheck should state their facts straight. It is not the 'original birth certificate'. It is a recently produced 'Certification of Live Birth'.
Why show it to an Obama-friendly group like FactCheck, rather than a more objective group? I am still suspicious, especially since the issue number was blacked out.
If Senator Obama’s sister can get a COLB from the State of Hawaii, even though she was born in Djakarta, Indonesia, in 1970, then anyone can go in and report a live birth and get a COLB in Hawaii!

Like many here, we have. For months. Pretty much since this “issue” surfaced. However, akin to the Ron Paulies, or the odd 911-truther, this thing just keeps on running, and running, and....
On the other hand isn't it much more important to know that factcheck.org is owned by a "trust" that used to employee both Obama and his gumbah, the mad-bomber terrorist himself, William Ayers?
Whatever factcheck.org has verified it has nothing whatsoever to do with the authenticity of anything (if the staffers doing the job know what's good for them eh).
While I think Obama should and will be defeated on an issues and character based campaign, the irony would be too sweet if he was disqualified over this.
In his first State Senate campaign in Illinois, he had all four of his opponents disqualified on signature challenges, including the woman who had paved the way for him to take her seat and introduced him to all the “right” people. (She was leaving her State Senate seat to move up to a Illinois congressional spot, but lost...she tried to get back into the race and was tossed out, Obama refused to step aside...:)

But did she? My impression has been that the story about the sister’s birth certificate arises out of a claim that there are “secret names” in the background of the pixels.
There is one strange thing. Where it says fathers race: African. Now that is his nationality. Wasn’t it common in the 60’s for the race to be put down as NEGROE ?

I hope the judge is not a stooge, and gets on this. Clearly there is a good-ole-boy deal going down here and it really smells.
With all this talk and now even a lawsuit regarding Obama’s place of birth, I was wondering about the fact (or at least, my understanding) that McCain was born in a military base in the Panama Canal Zone.
I’m assuming that being born in a U.S. military base, even if it is located in a foreign country, is enough to satisfy the Constitution? (But being born in Kenya, as Obama might have, would of course NOT be enough to satisfy.)
Would that be correct? I’m not trying to stir up something on McCain; just wondering where the delineation is drawn, exactly.
