How Many Houses Does McCain Own?
Pajamas Media ^ | August 21, 2008 | Richard Miniter

Posted on 08/21/2008 12:42:39 PM PDT by AJKauf

The talking point of the day: Sen. John McCain does not know how many houses he owns.

In a classic gaffe, he tells a reporter to check with his staff; he just doesn’t know. The McCain campaign says “at least” four. Newsweek estimates seven...

Here’s two truths that the McCain campaign can’t say: one, it is Cindy McCain’s money and not his.....

Cindy McCain is an executive at her family owned company.

Can’t Obama accept that a successful WOMAN can buy as many homes as she wants?

“If you’re like me and you’ve got one house..."

Well, I'm not like you Barium. I don't own a house and have never owned a house. Of course, if I'd been fortunate enough to get a sweet-heart mortgage deal from a friend, my ability to afford a piece of property would have increased. Frankly Barium, I really don't think you want to pursue the real estate topic.

Well...if Lord Obama wants this to be an issue, let him explain his shady real estate deals buying his own home....

Obama on Rezko deal: It was a mistake

November 5, 2006 | Chicago Sun-Times

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama expressed regret late Friday for his 2005 land purchase from now-indicted political fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko in a deal that enlarged the senator's yard.

"I consider this a mistake on my part and I regret it," Obama told the Chicago Sun-Times in an exclusive and revealing question-and-answer exchange about the transaction.

In June 2005, Obama and Rezko purchased adjoining parcels in Kenwood. The state's junior senator paid $1.65 million for a Georgian revival mansion, while Rezko paid $625,000 for the adjacent, undeveloped lot. Both closed on their properties on the same day.

Obama's dealings with Rezko buy a parcel of questions Sweet blog: '08 hopeful in Iowa again. State worker puts up home for Rezko bail Blagojevich: I don't recall Rezko list Last January, aiming to increase the size of his sideyard, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.

The transaction occurred at a time when it was widely known Tony Rezko was under investigation by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and as other Illinois politicians befriended by Rezko distanced themselves from him.

I agree, and actually if this gets any legs at all, the "new" McCain response should be "Sometimes one when Cindy makes me sleep in the dog house, the rest are hers..."

Humor will diffuse this quickly.

Investment properties in his wife's portfolio. Many people are invested in rentals and such. I know one fellow that is an HVAC tech that owns 7 rental properties. Some of McCain's holdings are in a blind trust also.

This is a big dud. Obama is tanking, and so, just like the John Kerry footbal photos,

his handlers have told him to get out there and be more agressive. The problem is, girlie-men acting agressive comes off as just plain weird. Like Algore when they told him to be an "alpha male" by wearing a particular color tie. That's just fruity, and is lost on 99.9% of the population. John McCain earned his money, and so did his wife. Good for them. Good for them if they own 1000 homes. Obama has 1 home, and it was gained in a suspicious manner. That si the story here. Obama will continue to sink in the polls, because no one wants another Algore, John Edwards, John Kerry faggotty puke running things when Russia is acting up again.

Are the condos and is the apartment a "house"? The Arizona ranch looks like a "house". How about investment properties? Don't they have relatives that they're housing? And which residences is John listed on the deed for? If he says one and the number is 12 it's a "gotcha" even if #2-12 aren't houses and he's never even been in half of them.

Doesn't Obama have more than one, or does he live in his car when he's in DC?

Very easy... if your spouse is independently wealthy you may own a part in more houses than you realize... investments, companies, various entities, etc...

How is it possible not to know how many houses you own?

In a "Gotcha" moment, when you own investment properties.

Ask anyone with numerous investment properties to say exactly how many properties they own (while a microphone is in their face) and see what happens. I would imagine they would need to take a moment to make the calculation.

My question is when did it become a crime (or shameful) to be successful in this country?

re: My question is when did it become a crime (or shameful) to be successful in this country? )))

LOL. John McCain has a lot in common with John "Gigolo" Kerry. I guess it's a sign of success to marry an heiress? And I'm not forgetting the snarky way he behaved about Romney's wealth. Romney inherited a wad from his dad and went out and made a lot more on his own. He didn't have to marry his way into politics.

At one time, the two of them did the Vietnam Hero thing together in the Senate.

You know, I think we're a lot better off in FR talking down Obama than trying to talk up McCain. When McCain is attacked, I have no instinct at all to defend him. Let him defend himself.

And he'd better be careful with the Rezko stuff. He got off real easy with the Keating Gang of Five. They've never looked into his relationship with Keating before McCain was in the Senate.

Quite possible since they are probably in Cindy's name, and McCain has better things to do than worry about how Cindy is investing in real estate. (Any wealth they have comes mainly from her family.)

You know, I think we're a lot better off in FR talking down Obama than trying to talk up McCain.

Right you are.

McCain talks about "greedy" corporations while his wife Cindy made $6 million in 2007. At what point does "greedy" apply to him and Cindy?

McCain has signed on to the global warming fraud and it's "Cap & Trade" while his wife Cindy makes a living running a company distributing beer in large heavy duty trucks spewing out huge amounts of CO2.

McCain attacked the oil industry for not investing enough in alternative energy. Hey John, they're oil companies! And how much of Cindy's profits does she invest in beer alternatives?

I don't have specifics, but I've read reports that McCain flies around in one of Cindy's corporate jets and I have little doubt that they personally own a private jet as well.

It's easy for McCain to come up with all this crap when he's exempt.

Problem is, America should not be ruled by the super rich. To much BS, to many conflicts, too much corruption, too many connected wealthy insiders.

Don't know how many homes he owns?

In an era where many Americans can hardly make their mortgage...is anyone surprised by these comments or who is running for president?

7 homes? Why not make it an even 10 homes?

I’m not a McCain fan, but what is being reported is that Cindy McCain owns all of the properties in the family. She owns 8 total. At least 4 are income properties. John McCain doesn’t own any property. After the Keating 5 scandal, the McCains signed an agreement to keep their assets separate to prevent any ethics problems. The Senator doesn’t know what investments his wife has so there can’t be any hint of impropriety connected with them.
