There is an e-mail blitz generated by moveon.org going around. I got two, one from my niece, trying to scare women into thinking there is a bill before Congress that would make birth control meds illegal.

I know a little about that bill, which was designed to prevent discrimination against health care professionals because of their religious beliefs about abortion.

Does anyone else know any more about it?

(trying to explain the truth to my niece)

Yeah....watch out for Ridge. I heard he opposed Reagan on every damn thing during that time.

Although I’ve no problem with a “pro-choice” candidate.

It’s not that I am Pro-choice...not at all. But this is a losing issue for pubbies and they ought to walk away from it. Now as for partial-birth abortion and that abomination of allowing living babies to die slowly....well how about the pubbies jump on something that is a winning point as concerns abortion? I’m quite sure we can stop partial birth abortion right away but the pubbies are scared or can’t articulate the notion properly.

Because to outlaw abortion would only require the Dems to air just one commercial showing a 13 year old girl impregnated by her abusive father with a message something like “we looked the other way when her father beat her and left her helpless, now we are going to make her bear his child?”

Add to this the problem of actually putting women in jail who’ve had abortions and wow, the sight and sound bytes would set the pubbies back a hundred years.

Now don’t go arguing with me on this issue because I think abortion is murder but I got my finger on the pulse of the ladies at the beauty salon.

I would be open to someone who, like Rudy, openly admits to being pro-choice but would nominate a strict constitutionalist for the Supreme court and let the chips fall where they may.

Ridge might be pro-choice but that alone doesn’t disqualify him in my mind. It’s his liberal legislative record and frankly he was a failure as head of Homeland Security in my book.

It’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

In the middle of saying what a great fellow Obama is, and how well he did last night, Bayh through in a sharp hard attack against Corsi’s book, saying if McCain was running the kind of campaign he used to, that he would have denounced the book. Have you noticed other surrogates doing this?

Can’t provide a link, but from watching most all the Democrat debates I can’t ever remember Georgia and Russia even being mentioned. Bayh should be challenged to provide evidence.

Saw that and LOLed. Schieffer wouldn’t give Pawlenty even a second to respond.

Where is Bayh asking Obama to condemn the remarks of Howie the screamer and Obama himself. Let’s not forget, Obama said republicans are Ignorant and Howie called us the “White party”.

The double standard is annoying.

Obama has been a very negative candidate, but gets a pass by the media every day. The love-in is failing however thanks to alternative news choices.

So Obama can’t push around the clintons so he goes on to try and push around McCain.

Bayh should focus on controlling hillary from upstaging Obama.

.
Remember Charlie Rangel put the sham bill for a military draft up. Democrats do play games to scare the populace.

Fox’s Wilson steps down as D.C. bureau chief

In a meeting today at Fox’s D.C. bureau, Fox News EVP of News Editorial John Moody announced that Brian Wilson is stepping down as bureau chief, according to an insider present.

Wilson will return to an on-air anchoring/ reporting role, and cover both the political conventions and November election.

Bryan Boughton has been named deputy bureau manager during this transition, with no decision yet as to who will assume Wilson’s role as bureau chief.

Also from the meeting: Bill Sammon was named deputy managing editor, which is a new role in the bureau.

Most definitely. He needs more than just a “safe” pick. He needs someone who is going to bring him votes. As far as I can tell she is the only person who would be able to do that.

That came up in the first articles trashing Corsi’s book. It’s a silly red herring; McCain has absolutely no connection to Corsi or the book, so why should he?

Laverne,

In my opinion that hollering about "racism" and "mean-spiritedness" is starting to lose its power. Frankly, I don't really care if people want to call me racist if I oppose Obama. From the party of Reverend Wright that charge means less than nothing.

Democrats are avoiding all of the issues, and want to do nothing but call names. When they are tweaked with an ad like "The One", they get so unreasonably defensive they sound insane. Accusing McCain of inferring Obama is the Anti-Christ is just one example.

Why is it so terrible for Rep if the LOSER in the DEM primary is selected as VP? What about the galvanizing effect on the Republicans if faced with another possible 8 years of the Clinton’s? If she was so popular why didn’t she win in the primary? Have you any idea what the effect of the Clinton scandals being aired all over again will have on this nation? Do you seriously believe that other then the moonbats, that any significant number of Ind really want the Clinton’s back in the WH?

Finally if the press is so all powerful and it seemingly frightens you that they will call it a dream ticket, unbeatable, etc, why is Obama only tied in the polls now? Personally i believe not nearly enough credit is given to the American people.

Remember all the tape on file of Hillary bashing Obama on his lack of experience. Do you think we have seen the last of that? Uh uh, the real fight has yet to begin.

Well I’ll jump in here....

...I think the Ruskies are all bluster and bombast on this matter.

I base this belief on an insightful call from a Rush listener the other day as well as a comment from the President of Georgia, don’t make me spell his name.

The Rush listener had some friends from Russia as well as some background on the matter. She said that Russia is in very sad shape, not at all filled with oil-rich coffers as is alleged. The caller said that Russia’s mafia effectively stole billions from that country, selling off their military hardware and such.

The President of Georgia made a comment that went under the radar but I heard it. He said that Russia pulled out the living skeletons off of their pensions to bring them in to fly planes. If true, and I believe the President of Georgia would know, then this bolsters the opinion of that Rush caller.

I think Putin would like to be a world player but doesn’t have the military and might that he’d like the world to think. So he planned this little invasion around the Olympics and pulled some stuff and people out of mothballs and maybe, with smoke and mirrors, might manage to score some more territory for the motherland.

Further, Bush last week gave a speech IN the CIA with the sign prominantly above his head. This was not an accident I assert. I think Bush wanted Putin to know that the U.S. knew full well the circumstances in Russia and that he wasn’t fooling anyone.
I don’t think it’s going to work.

And think about the glorious sight of the two of them united on stage at Invesco field. The Dems would just go crazy! Talk about throwing red meat to your base!
