Isn’t today the press conference? I wonder if they’ll show the body itself, or just the photo that’s out there? I’m betting the latter.
Something like this, if real, would be the story of the decade. That’s why I am supremely skeptical. But I will keep my eye on the story.
Umm, doggies. That looks mighty tasty.
IMHO, if there were anything to this, they’d have held the press conference immediately, made the announcement, and put up a website. It doesn’t take time to build journalistic interest (even derisive interest) in a put-up-or-shut-up type story of this kind.

I’m going to go out on a limb and assume if these things exist, they are warm blooded. Couple some tracking dogs with IR sights; should be easy enough to find a living one in a couple months.

Also: Bigfoot Tracker Sounds self-promoting.
And then again, more there ... Ut oh.
If you're too lazy to click the 2nd and third links ... here's the solid debunk; it might help to watch the YouTube video before understanding this: ____________________________________________________________________________________

So, this is what happens when I get bored, and decide to have a look at something.
Officer Whitton is apparently a real person. That's sort of too bad, as I bet his Department will have a rather dim view of him participating in an online scheme seemingly designed to convince people to pay them $500, and using the "bigfoot body" and the testimony of "Dr Paul Van Buren" to somehow validate it. First, exhibit A, a photo of Officer Whitton: He seems to be the man in the video, with the cast..so we'll run with that. Now it gets interesting. He claims to have gone to the airport to pick up Dr Van Buren, and we see a bit of Dr. Van Buren in several screen shots, such as here: Now...the interesting thing is that in Texas, there also lives a man named Martin Whitton. Now, Martin happens to be a photographer. I found Martin because on the comments section of the video linked by Tube, there are several claims that "Dr Van Buren" is instead the brother of one of the people featured in the video/on the website. Later..someone says "nice to see MARTIN in these"(or something to that effect). I took that as meaning that Martin is the name of the "Dr"...so I just started adding the claimed last names of all the players to "martin" and behold, the power of google. Since we had the cops name, and he appears to be a real person...I started with him, thus, Martin Witton, Texas, was my first google. Here is the link to a photo on his photography site, which is quite interesting. http://www.mwwphoto.com/gallery/3253166_i9...180078420_BpEjH Here is a screen shot, in case said page happens to disappear. You will note the people in the shot...then please note the title of the shot. It's "family, 2006" or something along those lines. Once might even interpret that to mean it's Martins family. That would be interesting, given that somehow...both Officer Matthew Whitton, AND "Dr Paul Van Buren" seem to have managed to find their way INTO that photo...a photo taken by, and on a site owned by, a man with the same last name as Officer Whitton(and one might note, in the same city that the presumably mythical Dr Van Buren also resides, per his myspace page). Here is a fade in of Officer Whitton onto "himself" in the photo. Please note that all facial features match perfectly...even down to the mole on his right cheek. Here is a comparison of the mystery man on the far left of Mr. Martin Whitton's photo..and "Dr. Van Buren". Notice any similarities there? I will leave the conclusions as to what all this means, up to the readers, as of course I can't claim to know for certain that any "funny business" is going on. After all..maybe the DO have a bigfoot body, maybe there really IS a "Dr Van Buren who looks just like Martin Whitton, and maybe Martin Whitton is entirely unrelated to Officer Whitton, and he just happens to have a relative who is a clone of Officer Whitton, and thus there is no false claims of any kind going on, by a Police officer, in an attempt to bolster a story being used to convince people to pay $500 for a weekend in the woods. Yeah..all that could be true. I wonder what the commander of the Uniformed personnel division in the Clayton County police department would make of all of this? -------------------- |

Outstanding work Nightwing!!
It's been several years now, and I'd have to double check the specifics for sure, but I think this is similar to what happened in the Reed UFO hoax. A man claiming to be "Dr. Reed" called in to the Art Bell show and detailed his wild UFO story. Obviously at this point it was only a radio thing. Eventually photos of "Dr. Reed" surfaced, and he was recognized as a guy really named Rutter. Yeah, most YouTube comments are useless garbage, but from time to time you see interesting stuff. I suspect Nightwing's findings will be seen in YouTube comments shortly, unless they get turned off. Remember when the news broke that Penn and Teller created the "Sonoma" video? The BFRO's webpage promoting it as real was taken down within the hour... We might see Bigfoot Tracker's YouTube videos gone in a few hours as well. -------------------- How did Bigfoot get into that elk wallow without leaving footprints? It Rickrolled.

Thanks Tube. That being said..I'm less then 100 percent sure on the fade in guy now..he does look older, although again, the facial features(and the mole!) seem to align. It may be due to a different stance or something, OR he may just be a close looking relative.
All that aside..the Identity of "Dr Paul Van Buren, seems to be in serious doubt and if indeed as we suspect, he is this Martin guy..then I think the rest of it is irrelevant. Outstanding work Nightwing!!

I wonder how this will affect Martin Whitton's wedding photography business?
http://www.mwwphoto.com/gallery/4854194_sPwYq Well, he may be in this hoax to bolster his business. His website says that the he is scheduled to do over 20 weddings in 2008. Which could mean that he has 21 weddings scheduled. As a retired professional photographer, I would hope that his portrait photography business is doing better, cause you can't live on 21 weddings a year. Over on the GCBRO message board, we have an individual claiming that they are stomping around his research area in West Texas. Hmmm? -------------------- http://www.sasquatchprimetime.blogspot.com/

Night, you are right about Officer Whitton matching, great job! His features won't totally match up on a 2D plane because his head is held at 2 different angles, but copy and paste the mustache and grown hair to the Officer's photo, and it's a match.

Nightwing you are correct about Dr. Paul Van Buren being Martin Whitton. A new video has been put up on youtube that flat out states the good Dr. is indeed Martin Whitton.

Nightwing:
Excellent work! I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how you superimposed one photo on top of another on your screenshots of the mwwphoto website - but I'm no tech guru! But you say you've got lots of time on your hands, so I'm sure youve been working at this sort of thing for some time. May I suggest something more productive during all of your free time, like volunteer work?! It can be really fun and rewarding, plus itll get you out of the house and away from the computer. Any who, you should check out the latest video posted to YouTube admitting that the whole Van Buren thing was a fraud; It's hilarious. Imagine this whole time that Van Buren was a stuffed bear!! Who would've thought it?! I just wish the whole charade could've gone on a little longer. You really know how to ruin some good 'ol harmless redneck fun! Speaking of fun, I know you're just trying to get your chuckles too, but did you know that you violated U.S. Copyright law by posting copyrighted photos from a professional photographer's website (mwwphoto.com) onto the Bigfoot Discussions website? Please remove your posting (or at least all the copyrighted photographs - I certainly don't want to restrict your free speech!) from this posting and any other location you may have posted copyrighted photographs. If you have additional questions regarding copyright law, and Im sure that Im preaching to the choir here, dont hesitate to utilize Google.com as a research tool. I found this interesting FAQ page on Federal Copyright Laws using your favorite website. Heres one of the little nuggets I discovered: The Copyright Act is federal law, not state law. Consequently, the law is uniform throughout the United States. Also, since the United States has signed several international copyright agreements, copyright protection is effective essentially all over the world. Generally, owners of copyright have the exclusive right to use and copy their works. Copyright owners can also authorize others to use their works. The use or copying of any work [including photographs] without permission from the owner of the copyright is a violation of the United States Copyright Act. - http://www.photolaw.net/faq.html I greatly appreciate your cooperation. Best of luck in debunking other harmless hoaxes in the future! -MWhitton |

OMG! Is that Officer Whitton or his brother Martin?

Given the people involved, I would weigh more on the side of hoax. Also, some savvy skeptics found a bigfoot suit that matches the head of the one in the freezer EXACTLY!
A hairy man with big feet has been found.
Friday... at which time Ashton Kutcher will appear and say, “Dudes, you’ve been Punk’d!”
Hoax!
The Georgia “Bigfoot Body” story is a hoax started by two hoaxers in Georgia. The hoax is now being orchestrated by a veteran bigfoot hoaxer named Carmine Thomas Biscardi.
NOTE 1: The discussion forum server that provides the background on this hoax has been inundated with hits from around the world, and has been going on the blink recently. The server techs are working on it, so if the links below don’t bring up the discussion forum ... you may need to wait until later.
NOTE 2: If the forum does come up, you may see a pop-up advertisment when you first get to the forum. To get around that pop-up screen quickly, click the small link in the upper left hand corner of the screen that says “Skip this Ad.”
NOTE 3: You do not need to register on this forum in order to view this information. It is freely available. If you only see the header links of the forum, that means the server is still on the blink.
Links to the forum:
Here’s how the hoax got started.
Here’s how the hoax was debunked.
And here’s the holloween costume used for the fake dead bigfoot.
If you’re waiting for the discussion server to come back online, then you might want to see some important pieces of evidence on YouTube.
Here are two of the YouTube videos put out by the two Georgia boys who started this hoax. In the first video the lying sheriff deputy, Matthew Gary Whitton, goes to the airport to meet a “scientist” who he claims has come to Georgia to examine the “body.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRcKClMRz4I
Various people figured out that the “scientist” was actually the deputy’s own brother, Martin Whitton.
Busted.
In the second YouTube video the sheriff deputy admits to the hoax ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMEsD3_J2DQ ... but then continues to lie about having a “bigfoot body”.
These Georgia clowns are lying and perpetrating a scam. The story is a definitely a hoax. The “body” is a holloween costume in a freezer, with some animal entrails laid on top. The sheriff deputy is going to be disciplined (and probably fired) when he returns to work from medical leave, according to the Clayton County (Georgia) Sheriff’s department.
These two buffoons do not run bigfoot expeditions and never have. That’s just another one of their lies. They are simply two clowns in Georgia who put some bogus videos on YouTube that got some attention. They initially offered bigfoot expeditions because they were aware of the popularity of BFRO expeditions.
When they initially got some press attention in Georgia, the press attention attracted the legendary hoaxer, Carmine Thomas Biscardi. Biscardi has been pushing hoaxed bigfoot evidence for several years now. He is widely known on the bigfoot research scene as a charlatan, a parasite, a hoaxer, and a scam artist. He perpetrated a similar hoax on a nationally syndicated radio show in 2005, and later confessed to the hoax. He recently announced a press conference for Friday in San Francisco or Palo Alto, in order to attract lots of attention to himself — attention which he plans to parlay into various profiteering ventures, the profits from which he has undoubtedly agreed to share with the two original hoaxers, Whitton and Dyer.
Legitimate bigfoot researchers have mixed emotions about this whole affair. On the one hand, it’s sickening to watch this ridiculous hoax receive as much attention as it has gotten. On the other hand, this is Biscardi’s final hurrah. Reporters headed to the press conference are prepared to expose him as a liar and hoaxer. The media and the public will never take him seriously ever again after that, and he will finally go away.
“But could it be for real afterall?”
If Biscardi actually brings the body itself to the press conference, and he hands it over to the Department of Anthropology at Standford ... and THEY declare that it’s a real bigfoot ... then we’ll admit we were wrong about the whole thing.
But instead, here’s what you might expect from the press conference: Biscardi will waltz in with two smiling impostor Russian “scientists” ... who will say whatever Biscardi has paid them to say about the “body” that he’ll never allow the press to examine in the flesh.
Carmine Thomas Biscardi’s only alleged career background is that of a “Las Vegas promoter” ... which Americans understand means any manner of sleazy vocations in that town.
