Continuing her push for a comprehensive energy plan that includes increased oil drilling, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., reminded Americans that the Democrats message to save the planet doesn’t add up. The world has been saved already, she says.
Responding to Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s comment about creating an energy policy to help save the planet, Bachmann added religion to the energy crisis during her interview with OneNewsNow, a Web site run by Christian American Family News Network.
“[Pelosi] is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she’s just trying to save the planet,” Bachmann said. “We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet — we didn’t need Nancy Pelosi to do that.”
Bachmann said Democratic leaders are committed to stopping bills that allow drilling. Bachmann plans to join other Republicans in the House chamber on Friday to continue their protest during the congressional recess to bring members back for a vote on an energy bill.
The Minnesota DFL released a statement Tuesday denouncing the protest at the Capitol, calling it an “Olympics of meaningless rhetoric.
According to the statement, Republicans “would rather grandstand in a meaningless charade in Washington that will do nothing to reduce the cost of gas or the overall economic squeeze on Minnesota’s working families.”

They don’t know it, and neither does our Gang of Weasels, ie, Grahamnesty, Saaaaaxbeee, and the other three GOP sellouts.
Curious how the GOP is always held accountable for it odds and sods but the Do Nothing Democrats, from their leaders to their rank and file, always get a pass from supposed “conservatives”.
We missed the point here. Our planet, Earth, has been saved for the moment. Pelosi’s planet, wherever it is, has not been saved. She is the last of her species, intent on multiplying and destroying our world just as she did hers.
Get rid of this illegal alien. Save earth from Pelosi.

Well... let's just say they sold their souls to the devil....and stupidity is a by-product thereof.

In answer to your question, to a degree, they ARE that stupid, but worse - they have SUCH a hatred of GW and Republicans that by gosh and by golly, the LAST thing they’ll do is what’s good for the country (especially if the Republicans might get credit for it). The whole purpose of blocking a vote is that they know it would pass. And, in the case of Reid and the Senate, they’re blocking discussion and a vote SOLELY to protect the Annointed One, b. hussein, from being forced to cast a vote and make a stand (automatically angering half the people who are favoring him since he currently pleases all the people all the time with his double-speak).
Regarding the original post, btw - what these “grandstanding” republicans may indeed accomplish is favorably influence a lot of November elections which could make ALL the difference for this country.

More evidence that Dims do not buy their own gasoline. They don't realize that gasoline prices have dropped by more than $0.40 a gallon since President Bush rescinded the Outer Continental Shelf EO and Republicans began to push for opening drilling in the U. S.

I'll bet there are quite a few Dem congressmen and women in districts not as radical as Pelosi's and the other elites who are quite unhappy. They know their constituents support drilling, and they're probably grinding their teeth and swearing under their breath at Pelosi. I'm sure she's received quite a bit of pressure to move towards drilling from these upset fellow Dems. But she also knows she'll get booted out of her own radical, lib district if she supports drilling. She and other ultra-lib Dems are hoist by their own petards.
