Barack Obama's national Muslim outreach coordinator has resigned amid a controversy of over his connections to a man who the Justice Department named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the racketeering trial last year of several alleged Hamas fund-raisers.
Mazen Ashabi, a Chicago lawyer who had been appointed to help Obama reach out to Muslims, stepped down on Monday, the Wall Street Journal reported late last night.
The paper had inquired about his relationship with Jamal Said, who served on a board with Asbahi in 2000 that is a subsidiary of the North American Islamic Trust, which holds titles to mosques, Islamic centers, schools, and other real estate around the country. Said had been named in an investigation of alleged Hamas fund-raisers, which ended in a mistrial last year, the paper reported.
"I am stepping down from the volunteer role I recently agreed to take on with the Obama campaign as Arab-American and Muslim American coordinator in order to avoid distracting from Barack Obama's message of change," Ashabi wrote in a statement Obama's campaign staff released last night.

48% comes from unreported sources (contributions under $200 do not have to be reported). Nonetheless, the source of 97% of McCain's money IS reported, including LOTS of less than $200 contributions. Obama seems to be taking the tack of intentionally not reporting small donations, even when they have the info.....unless they are covering up something.
High office teaches decision making, not substance. It consumes intellectual capital; it does not create it. Most high officials leave office with the perceptions and insights with which they entered; they learn how to make decisions but not what decisions to make.
To go into high office without experience or substance is a bad thing. We see Obama's track record. He makes bad choices in his associates, he avoid taking firm positions, and when he does take a position, he often flip-flops (then denies that he's changing his position).
He won't grow while in office. His judgement will not improve. His administration will look like his current campaign.
And why isn’t OBAMA being investigated? This is one more added to the list of questionable associates he has been friends and acquainted with...
AND, just like the long list of America-hating crooks, this Muslim will try to hide in a closet until after the election......and then, Obama’s dem sleeper cells will be in all of our lives.

He has served as president of the lobby's largest organization, the Islamic Society of North America, and sat on the board of the North American Islamic Trust, its mechanism for taking over mosques and other Islamic properties.
When the QLI's assets were impounded in 1998, leading organizations of the Wahhabi lobby, ISNA, the Islamic Circle of North America, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim Students' Association leapt to its defense, declaring themselves "shocked at this unprecedented action taken against members of the Muslim community." Nearly 1,000 supporters rallied on QLI's behalf. And yet, we now know that this innocuous-appearing organization did have a key role funneling money to Hamas...
