Whereas, some stalwart Republicans stand fast on the floor in The House of Representatives, refusing to call it a day with "The People's Business" yet left undone,
Whereas, Speaker Pelosi and her Democrat cohorts have voted to abandon the needs of the American People in favor of coddling their own personal desires,
Whereas, we are a Nation facing an intensifying energy crisis,
Whereas, it is the sworn duty of our elected Congressional Representatives and Senators to pass the legislations required to facilitat alleviation of the causes of this growing crisis,
Whereas, it is the expressed will of the majority of the people of these United States of American that Congress pave the way for our oil industry sector to DRILL HERE, and DRILL NOW,
Whereas, Congressional Democrats have not only turned a deaf ear to the public voice on this matter, but have, essentially, raised both stiff middle fingers to flip all Americans the "Double Eagle",
Therefore, I hereby call upon all true American patriots to drive at all times with headlights illuminated until such time as Congress shall enact an energy policy enabling an increase in domestic oil exploration, drilling, and refining that is commensurate with our national needs
I furthermore call upon my fellow citizens to, by any available means, prominently display upon their vehicles the simple slogan:
LIGHTS ON FOR DRILLING NOW!!
WE, The People, MUST not concede to be ignored by the bloated Democrat egos presently controlling Congress. We cannot sit idly and allow our national needs to be trumped by tone-deaf, egotistical, partisan political hacks.

The democrat party has given up their jobs in the House. Real Americans should go there from each constituent state and take the seats. This is the start of the New Revolution.
Sadly, not much of this will be of any help. Fuel prices will remain high, 70% of the public will still want to drill and these same people will reelect the obstructionists in November.

PLEASE EVERYONE make the calls! I got through to Pelosi’s office (1-202-225-0100) and also called and left a message for President Bush (1-202-456-1111) to call Congress back for a special session. If we all do it, it will help. We need to make noise!
I can’t get through to the number, I suspect the switch is like severely overloaded, or they took the phones off the hook. lol!!!!!!!
To me, turning lights on is insignificant. They don’t care. The work to be done is to get them out of office, I believe.

I don't share your pessimism; and I'm 30mi from San Fran, surrounded by LibNuts, so that's really saying something.
I hear enough grousing about the cost of fuel to know that it's NOT a partisan issue; that there are a substantial number of moderate and centrist Democrat voters out there who are also incensed by the antics of the Democrat contingent in Washington D.C.
I really believe that VISIBILITY is crucial to getting this into the forefront of the national conversation as the election looms in November.
IF enough people are out there "takin' it to the streets", there's NO way this issue will get shoved to the back burner, and there's NO way Pelosi, Reid, and their obstructionist cabal will be able to feign either ignorance, or higher knowledge. They WILL have to face the argument head-on, in public, and take a definite stance to either drill or not.
When they do, if this issue is given a high enough profile, they just won't be able to say "No" to drilling without slitting their own throats politically.
But the key is US, and our efforts to keep the fire hot, on this.

My son who works in the Capitol just called me and said that he came across a number of Capitol police that were told not to go home after their shift. That orders have been given by Nancy Pelosi to remove them by force and in hand cuffs if necessary
