"From what you hear in the neighborhood, people have packed up and left and have gone to other states, or have gone back home to their country," said Cynthia Garza, a city Neighborhood Outreach coordinator.

Sometimes these idiots actually tell the truth without meaning to.

Ping!

It’s worth it to click through and read the article. The quotes are from what appear to be Latino merchants and residents (not unusual, AZ has a lot of citizens of Latino descent) telling us how hard the area has been hit.

One shop owner says that if all the illegals leave, his business will suffer an immediate 50% decrease.

Although the article has the typical pro-illegal bent, it is a fairly open and honest assessment of the scope of the problem.

A friend told me today, that he rented a very nice apartment to two ‘illegals’ that he felt sorry for - as they couldn’t find a nice place, and were ‘hard workers’.

They were in his apartment for three months - only paid for the first month (he was generous) and after not receiving rent for two months, went to the apartment, and found every single thing had been painted with the colors of the Mexican flag. (Even the water heater, range, cupboards, sink, comode and carpet.)

Food was left sitting everywhere, and rodents had taken over. They had smeared feces all over the walls, and spit on the ceilings. Dirty diapers (full of maggots) were in every corner.

It took him four months to replace and repair everything.

It is one thing to come here to work - another to desecrate the property of someone that was kind to you.

And unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. Check out highway rest stops - they have pictorial signs telling folks how to use the commodes. It's the only way to even come close to keeping them clean.

Juan Carlos, 35, an undocumented immigrant who lives in the area, is considering moving. The Republic is not disclosing his last name.

His eyes welled with tears as he thought about all he'd been through the past six months.

"It has affected me at work because the hours have been reduced," he said, noting there are weeks when he gets less than eight hours of work painting.

Juan Carlos has a wife and three kids, with another on the way. Eleven years ago, he and his wife settled in Mesa and bought a home.

Ohhh, this makes me mad! Come here and have children that you can't afford and when ICE catches you and wants to send you back we are asked to feel guilty.

I am so tired of reading about how these people have been breaking the law, living as invaders and we are supposed to feel sorry for them.

See tagline....

I would be surprised if those that break the law to get here would follow directions of a sign in a restroom - it is becoming more and more obvious that the illegals have an intense dislike, disregard and disrespect the Americans and their way of life.

“went to the apartment, and found every single thing had been painted with the colors of the Mexican flag.”

Mercy, I bet that took a lot of primer to cover up.

Can you imagine bright green, white and red, painted all over your apartment that you so graciously leased to people who you thought were "Here to work hard to support their family"?

"I have house payments. And at times I can't pay for the house," he said. "At work they give you the harder work and will tell you, 'You can like it or not.' "

But... this was just fine with you when it was American workers making the same complaint due to the influx of illegals driving down wages & taking jobs.

This is rich... looks like all the arguments we who are against illegal labor are true after all & the others were wrong. I'll look forward to their mea culpas which will be forthcoming, I'm sure.

The tone of this article is revealing... it seems as though the writer wants illegals here simply for their own sake, not because of a labor shortage, as they previously claimed.

Someone please explain the identity politics rules here, it seems we can bemoan the loss of “latinos” but can one bemoan the loss of say “whites?” If this crosses the boundaries of PC then by all means report this to the censors and I will issue a deeply felt apology.

Yes, they have packed up and moved to "New" Mexico. The "Land of Enchantment" and free driver's licenses, and once they get them, they're on their way to becoming full blown Democrats, who, I believe were taken to the county clerks office and registered to vote as DemonRATS. With those licenses, they are on a pathway to citizenship. They can even take the NM license to other states and get a license there, register to vote, and IMO, they could vote in several states that way. I'm sure the RATS are paying for them to do just that. I personally think Governor Richardson should be brought up on charges for aiding and abetting criminals.

Re: the anchor babies voting. By all indications it will be in the next election. In LA, City Supervisor Gloria Molina has said the Mexican Coalitions will be enrolling millions of Hispanics to vote this year. (Legal or Illegal, who knows.) Quote by her “We will pay them back”!! This invasion has been going on for the last 30 years. The anchor babies will be voting for sure! I hope she means they will pay us back the billions of dollars we have spent on them. I don’t think that is what she means.
