We, the member congregations...covenant to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person, and justice, equity, and compassion in human relations.
With the victims pleading for leniency, the death penalty would seem extremely unlikely in this case... probably too much to hope that they'd change their position on the issue.
