JOHN EDWARDS AFFAIR: CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED
National Enquirer ^ | 7-26-08 | National Enquirer

Posted on 07/26/2008 5:24:11 PM PDT by WL-law

UPDATE: John Edwards' secret meeting with his mistress at the Beverly Hilton hotel has now become part of a criminal complaint.

NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporters Alan Butterfield and Alexander Hitchen filed a criminal complaint with the Beverly Hills Police Department on Thursday, July 24, charging that hotel security acted unlawfully while the reporters were trying to question the former senator.

Edwards now could be contacted by police to give an eyewitness account of what occurred.

Hotel security tried to stop the reporters from questioning Edwards in the basement of the hotel at approximately 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 22 after Edwards came off an elevator and appeared to be attempting to leave the hotel unseen.

His secret mistress Rielle Hunter and her baby were upstairs, and Edwards had just spent hours with them in a secret rendezvous.

As Butterfield and Hitchen tried to question Edwards, he ran down a hallway and ducked into a men's public bathroom. The reporters attempted to follow him in and Edwards pushed the door shut from inside.

Hotel security showed up and intervened. The reporters charge that not only did one security guard threaten to break their camera but that security also violated several statutes of the California Penal Code, including false imprisonment and preventing a guest from entering land.

The ENQUIRER reporters were registered guests at the hotel, while Edwards was not.

Police recorded the criminal complaint and will turn it over to detectives.

The interesting revelation, stated somewhat innocuously, is this little nugget:

"The ENQUIRER reporters were registered guests at the hotel, while Edwards was not."

This means that the Enquirer reporters were not just following Edwards and just stumbled into the story. If they were registered guests, they were tipped off about the clandestine meeting.

So -- who tipped them off? A hotel employee? Seems unlikely that the reservation alone, which would haev been made in a 3rd party's name, would have tipped off an employee.

Perhaps Edwards' girlfriend herself tipped off the Enquirer? As in "I'm trying to force him to choose between me and his wife!" type of tipoff?

Very interesting. No more "Attorney General Edwards", we can be sure.

Ancient news. The new news today is that FOX News confirmed what the National Enquirer reported.

I believe hotels can still evict guests that are causing a disturbance.

I think this whole thing is an Edwards misinformation campaign to prove he isn’t homosexual. He would never have sex with a woman because it would mess up his hair.

As Rush and others have pointed out, the side-squeeze, affair, love child, and hotel trysts, are resume’ enhancers for the Silky Pony.

"So -- who tipped them off?"

While the political inkblot test seems to favor Hillary, why not consider Obama's Kennedy/Daley handlers? They more or less got whatever they could out of Silky P, so why not remove him before he becomes a future embarrassment or simply someone whose potential appointment to this or that would be of less value than some other individual?

Crumpling up Edwards and throwing him in the wastebasket might just be the kind of change™ some of Der Fuehrer's people might hope® for.

His secret mistress Rielle Hunter and her baby were upstairs

The key here is whether it should say "her baby" or "their baby". I would assume that a baby would not be brought along for a clandestine meeting unless it was his. Otherwise, the rendezvous would would really be tawdry beyond the pale.

Agreed. They can also kill bedbugs and cockroaches, but not the two humans of that variety.

Could have sprayed 'em with something though.

At first glance I thought you were wrong, as Clinton had sex without messing up his hair, but, I had forgotten it was not sex.
