Campaign '08:<.b> Presidents Kennedy and Reagan both visited Berlin to champion freedom against its 20th century enemies. Barack Obama just showed Berliners no understanding of the 21st century's threats to liberty.
"I speak to you not as a candidate for president, but as a citizen," Obama claimed to the massive crowds. Yet if that were true, why was his every word in English? Both JFK and Reagan found a few moments to speak to Berliners in their language.
"Lass' sie nach Berlin kommen," the young Democrat memorably declared in June of 1963. And in June of 1987, the Great Communicator reminded his German audience that "there were a few things the Soviets didn't count on Berliner Herz, Berliner Humor, ja, und Berliner Schnauze" the Berliners' strong-heartedness, sense of humor and their sharp-witted tongue.
More importantly, unlike Obama, neither JFK nor Reagan went to Berlin to call on the world to join hands in some giant peace chain. Kennedy's brief speech was incendiary in its anti-communism (even if his policies were less so, most obviously his toleration of the wall's construction in 1961).
"There are some who say in Europe and elsewhere we can work with the Communists let them come to Berlin," he declared.

A Chamberlain for our times?
Correct
“Neither A Kennedy Nor A Reagan”
Just a Carter (at best).
I noticed the venues, beer, brats and a concert. Oh, and Obama telling them that which they already knew.
He wears not well, the typical result of an imposter shrouded in an empty suit and capped with an empty noodle.I keep the remote handy in case he suddenly appears on my screen. And I pray that McCain finds the grace to select a conservative vice presidential candidate so that I can surmount my current dismay and despair.
Thank you for the post.
Regards . . . Penny
From the pics posted by yahoo on the internet, this gathering looked more like a Billy Graham Crusade than a speech made by a con artist.
Obama, more naive than Carter, more arrogant than Clinton.
Penny, if you keep watching and listening to Obama you will, like me, grit your teeth and vote for McCain even if his running mate is Bugs Bunny. Obama's speech today drove me to send a small, but symbolic, contribution to McCain. How DARE that vacillating idiot Obama go around the world criticizing the US and dissing our troops?!?!
Kennedy was a schmuck, a poseur. Obama isn’t even that good.
Neither was enough of a man to be sufficiently worthy to empty Reagan’s chamber pot.
Obama the liberal.
Obama the socialist.
Definitely not A Reagan.
Case closed.
Obama, a pervayer of empty platitudes and Harvard/Yale doggerel.
We should be so lucky. More likely, Obama, if given the chance, would make Carter look like Reagan. I get a strong feeling of dread when I look into Barack's cold eyes. A man who can vote four times to allow breathing infants to die is a man who would not hesitate to execute his political enemies. A man who would allow his own little daughters to sit and listen to the hateful vitriol spewed by Jeremiah Wright is a man who will put his own interests ahead of any and everything. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Bwahahahaha
I can’t even listen to that charlatan and empty suit. His voice turns me completely off. Whenever he is on I either change the channel or mute my TV
That “speech” had so many cliches I was expecting him to open a Coke and start teaching the world to sing??
Pray for W and Our Troops
Obama’s performance in Berlin — simply proved he would amount to no more than a blackhead on the ass of real president like Reagan.
