Musharraf is walking a tightrope, kind of like what the Saudi family is walking. If he were to agree that Madrassas breed terrorists he would fall from power. Is that good for us?

I would not like to see Musharraf fall from power, because he’s not even .10 as bad as his replacement could be. I see this as a wink-wink statement. Things aren’t perfect, but they could be far, far, far worse...and this statement of his does not matter.

Is this a trick question? He isn't much of an ally & he's in the process of passing from the political scene. I figure that the next phase on the WOT will be that the lid blows off in Pakistan. Then we'll be wishing for the 'Good Old Days' when all we had to worry about was Iraq & Afghanistan.

Sorry, I'm a little pessimistic today.

Let's hope the replacement is better, because Mush's toast.
