Americas Brazilian law would prohibit Christian teaching on homosexuality

Rio de Janeiro, Jul 15, 2008 / 01:36 pm (CNA).- The Brazilian Senate is considering a bill approved unanimously and without debate by the country’s House of Representatives that aims to promote homosexuality and prohibit Christian teaching on the issue, under the guise of combating discrimination.

According to the Association of the Defense of Life, the bill would make it crime punishable by five years in prison to impede expressions of “homosexual affection” in public places or private places open to the public.

It would also punish those who deny employment openly homosexual teachers in schools with up to three years imprisonment, making it impossible for Catholic or Christian schools to prevent homosexuals from joining their faculties.

The bill would also impose prison sentences on any kind of moral, ethical, philosophical or psychological expression that questions homosexual practices. In this way, “a priest, a pastor, a teacher or even an average citizen who says in a sermon, a classroom or public conversation that homosexual acts are sinful, disordered or an illness could be denounced and detained,” the association said.

Christianity has been outlawed in Brazil. Its frightening.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus

Well they could get around that by teaching the Catholic Churches stance on sex and never have to mention the H word.

I am no expert on my faiths teachings but I would take a guess at having a best freind or two of my gender and loving them dearly is ok but wanting to love them in a way a man and woman procreate is impossible. Hope that came out right.

At a town hall meeting, Barack Obama was asked if we’d would be more like Venezuela. He said no, but Brazil was a good example.

I give it about eighteen to twenty-four months before we face the same thing here.

The U.N. has been driving this, and the ICC will be involved.

The U.N. thinks Christians commit crimes against Humanity when they disparage abortion and homosexuality.

“Macho” Latin culture? Apparently it’s a myth.

Consumer prices rising the fastest in 26 years isn’t breaking news, but this is? Okey-dokey.

There is some doubt on this story, I don’t think it’s true and it’s not sourced anywhere.

I’m starting to believe the Gaystapo is becoming a greater threat to Christians and Christianity and Western Civilization than the Islamofascists.

Maybe. Brazil has just drilled their way to energy independence.

I don’t remember a single instance of a CNA story being false.

The story says “considering”; not enacted.

Having said that, it might well be enacted.

Arm thyself.

Oh, I 100% believe that. Anything that seeks to destroy the traditional family is the greater threat.

I see Islam as a greater threat only where the Muslim population becomes predominant or at least heavily represented.

No, a Venezuelan immigrant asked him if he approved of Hugo Chavez. He said he didn’t like that kind of socialism but thought Brazil had a better system. “Even businesses liked the system”, he said. Of course, Brazillian government has partial ownership of their energy companies.
