Teutonic Twit: Schwarzenegger, Global Warming and the Bush Administration

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Noted scientist, Arnold Schwarzenegger, cast his eye over the political landscape and wagged his finger at the Bush administration. Schwarzenegger, governor of California, said the decision to delay a decision on regulations affecting greenhouse gases showed it did not believe in global warming.

The Bush Administration's refusal to guzzle some of Arnold's global warming Kool-Aid upset the Left Coast governor. The Last Action Hero decided a lecture was the solution. Schwartzenegger might not have realized he was also lecturing a majority of Americans for being nonbelievers. According to Pew Research Center:

Americans generally agree that the earth is getting warmer, but there is less consensus about the cause of global warming or what should be done about it. Roughly four-in-ten (41%) believe human activity such as burning fossil fuels is causing global warming, but just as many say either that warming has been caused by natural patterns in the earth's environment (21%), or that there is no solid evidence of global warming (20%).

Though the above info is two years old, a recent (June 22 2008) poll of Britons confirmed that a majority doubt that any warming is caused by human activity.

The majority of the British public is still not convinced that climate change is caused by humans - and many others believe scientists are exaggerating the problem, according to an exclusive poll for The Observer.

The results have shocked campaigners who hoped that doubts would have been silenced by a report last year by more than 2,500 scientists for the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which found a 90 per cent chance that humans were the main cause of climate change and warned that drastic action was needed to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

He played Conan the Barbarian.

He thinks he is Richard the Lionheart.

Actually, he is simply Arnold the Fool. The court jester.

Actors act, directors direct, now Arnold says he will act no more and be a good public servant. Must pay well.

I plan on enjoying the extra heat. Especially if it ever gets here in the winter. But I'm getting older and more arthritic every year, and I keep WHINING that I want my global warming NOW, but I still haven't SEEN it! And now it's been CANCELED, due to global cooling caused by a long solar minimum! But we're still supposed to PLAN for it! It's so DISCOURAGING!

I'm going to go drown my sorrows in weeding the garden. Must be all the extra carbon floating around making those weeds grow so big....

Arnold is a buffoon. He knows nothing about energy. He is a hypocrite. He commutes in a private jet everyday from LA to Sacramento. This uses up more fuel than the average person uses in a year. He drives a Hummer (or did). He had the stupidest idea about a Hydrogen Highway in California. I think his advisers stopped him from talking about this because of how impractical this was.
In short Arnold is a jerk.

I believe liberals talk about weather because they are too dim-witted to think about real issues

BTW, are you going to run an article on the man behind Mitch and Nan, Scott Covington?

Good question. At this point, I’d say the odds are probably not very good for a couple of reasons:

1 Is it news worthy? Can it be proved? Well, we’d have to do a LOT of digging to unearth info about a peripheral detractor of a peripheral detractor of Obama. I’d rather spend the time digging on Obama: Lord knows there’s enough stuff there to uncover and publicize.

2 Neither Scott Covington, Mitch nor Nan or Sinclair are running for president. The back-and-forth between M&N and Sinclair’s sites are great drama for their readers, but not very interesting (my opinion) to outsiders.

3 If Obama were only a freshman Senator and not running for President, I doubt if we’d have written more than a couple posts on Sinclair, if that.

4 Although the whole episode is funny in a Jerry Springer sort of way, we’re pretty much moving on past LWS. We have a boatload of info that we’ve checked and are getting ready to publish (hopefully by this weekend). That will probably pretty much end our regular Sinclair coverage as it should end any speculation on the veracity of Sinclair’s claims for open-minded folks.

Thanks for asking, though.

Have a good one!

While I agree with you on the amount of non-sinclair related Obmama material that is ripe for picking, your site has been one of three or four that has tried mightily to debunk LS (after first running more even handed material). You’ve posted a fair amount of stuff that seems to have been originated or at least concurred with the M&N show’s postings and your sinclair expert has been cheerleading on their site.

So, IMO, you owe it to your readers to disclose a bit of the nefarious activity regarding the self proclaimed LS debunkers. They claimed credit for getting LS arrested (despite saying it was from talking to the Colorado authorities), they claim to have inside info on the charges against sinclair in Delaware, they claimed to have statements from the limo driver disputing sinclairs version of events (though claiming to have met him in Gurnee/Chicago) then claimed that they ‘proved’ sinclair never stayed in the hotel he says he did. Lotsa wild arsed BS, with Mr. Covington in the middle of it.

Cheers.
