ACORN Watch: Massive Embezzlement Cover-Up

I ask again: Hello, GOP? Hello? Earth to GOP. Do something about this. Taxpayers continue to fund ACORN and its corrupt ways. We’re subsidizing their voter fraud, lining the pockets of their left-wing leaders, helping them profit off of the mortgage counseling racket, and now…funding them while they covered up massive embezzlement.

Crikey

Two prominent national nonprofit groups are reeling from public disclosures that large sums of money were misappropriated in unrelated incidents by an employee and a former employee.

The groups, Acorn, one of the country’s largest community organizing groups, and the Points of Light Institute, which works to encourage civic activism and volunteering, have dealt with the problems in very different ways.

Acorn chose to treat the embezzlement of nearly $1 million eight years ago as an internal matter and did not even notify its board. After Points of Light noticed financial irregularities in early June, it took less than a month for management to alert federal prosecutors, although group officials say they have no clear idea yet what the financial impact may be.

ACORN is very important for Obama to win if he does get the DNC nomination. Obama has quite a history with them. He was one of the orginal organizations of Project Vote.

Perhaps all we need is more of the same. I mean, haven't you heard that the Obama administration will push mandatory "voluntarism" (at least that is what I call it). These groups are sure to become the prototype for many more.

Looking at Burma, it seems that in a tyrannical system, the ruling class must allow corruption so that lower level bureaucrats can profit from and, thus, have a stake in the survival of the tyranny. See. you can learn important lessons from international examples.

It’s no use, the GOP is dead. Handed on a golden platter they even refuse to tie the Dems to high gas prices. If they can’t even do this, then they truly are brain dead.

**** and the Points of Light Institute,***

Wasn’t this institute formed from a statement by G H W Bush? The Thousand points of light? I remember an add that they had made a Senior center from the old school in Hope,NM, where my sister and brother went to school. Last time I was through there about two years ago, it was closed up.

I’m reading the history of Obama and Acorn now. He was (still is) quite a prominent figure with them. Seems his Hopefund PAC is specifically set up as a laundrey with their housing scam/fraud in mind.
