Don’t forget about the Russians. Russia has armed the ME for years. Convoy heading to Bakaa w/Saddam’s WMDs? Russian. Hezbollah’s Katyusha rockets? Russian. Sharing resources in the Caspian Sea with Iran? Russia. Without their Russian uranium and helicopters and missile defense sheilds Iran would hardly be anything. Good point. Through the czars, the Soviet Union to the ex-KGB man Putin, there must be something in the Russian DNA that makes them addicted to totalitarianism, oppression and empire-building.
