I must disagree with you severely on that, FRiend.  Okay, let's take a look.

GWB was ‘our’ guy and do you remember the fight we put up? ...it ain’t over. It’s not the end.  I wish I could address this to every FReeper on the forum.  Let me ask you a few questions.

1. Do you think any Democrats would have voted against that immigration reform?  You may, but the numbers would have been miniscule.
2. Do you think every Republican would have voted against that immigration reform?  The majority would have, but there are plenty of Repubicans who would have voted for it.
3. Do you really think we really stopped that legislation?
4. Don't you think McCain and company realized this would severely damage his chance to be president?
5. Do you think this legislation will return?
6. Did we stop anything?

It’s merely the end of the beginning.  McCain has stated he will make comprehensive immigration reform his top priority, spending his first 100 days pushing it through.  Term it anything you like, it's a done deal under him.

It’s just Round 2 with a new pitcher.  Remember, McCain/Kennedy introduced the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill.  It wasn't Bush.

We would indeed get nasty fastballs from McCain—worse yet, we’d get that PLUS nothing but mere spitwads for our military to fight with, with Obama.  For all of McCain's subtrifuge, you'll be getting basically the same things from each of these men.  I'm asking folks to take a look at who McCain has been cozying up to.  It hasn't been Conservatives and their think thanks.  It hasn't been our foundations.  It's been George Soros, Teressa Heinz Kerry, the Tides Foundation, the Education Institute, a myriad of other foundations that fight us on EVERY issue, and support everything that we dispise and is anti-U.S.

America is just waking up. Late indeed. But most definitely awake.  What evidene is there to support this.  Our party voted to nominate John McCain.  America is flat on it's back, "Clear"...

If I understand correctly, even Executive Orders must be ratified by Congress.  I believe Executive Orders stand unless overridden by Congress.

And meanwhile, it ain’t over until it’s over. And it’s a long way from over, I pray, by the grace of God.  IMO, you put John McCain in the Oval Office, and he has almost no resistance.  He'll get enough Democrats and Republicans to vote for his policy, that no matter what he proposes, it's a done deal.  It will essentially be one party rule.  You'll have Democrats and Repubicans(D) running the show.  And the top one will be John McCain(D).

Pray and pass it on!  I've have no problem with that, but God helps those who help themselves.  And I'm not helping myslef to a slice of John McCain.  As Nancy said, "I'm going to just say no."  But thanks...  (I believe Nancy endorsed McCain, so there's no intent to suggest otherwise here.)

This should offend every US tax paying citizen.

This is not only happening in Florida, but every state in the US.

Obama wants to pass immigration reform:  If he tries the Republicans will find fault with it.  The RNC, Congressional Republicans and the Republican rank and file will oppose him stridently.

McCain wants to pass immigration reform:  If he tries it the Democrats will join the Republicans to support it.  The DNC, the RNC, Congressional Democrats and Republicans, the Democrat and Republican Rank and file will support it.

I know you think folks would uniformly oppose it here.  You wait until he proposes it.  You'll find folks who will support it based on a myriad of ideas.

1. Not to would be xenophobic
2. We just as well sign on to this, the Demorats plan would be worse
3. John is our President and if we don't support him,  he won't be able to pass anything of value from here on out
4. If we don't support him, it will damage his ability to run again
5. He's a good man and deserves our support
6. Besides, it's no big deal.  Immigration has been a big plus for this nation.  This is no different.

If you think this isn't going to happen, sit back and watch.  This will not be that far from the truth.

We will wind up with a remnant of Conservatives who will oppose John McCain's abysmal policy.  The rest will find reasons to support him.

There will be McCain day in pictures threads.  There will be Pray for John McCain threads.

There won't be pray for the nation threads.  There won't be a day in the life of our nation threads.

It will 24/7 McCain, the new Reagan incarnate.

I'll take a pass on that, but thanks.

Oh the United States will never fall. It’s invincible.

I’d wager the vast majority of U.S. Citizens believe this.

You and me both. The worst part of a McCain four years in office, is what it would do to Conservatism. He would short circuit it while in office, but that’s not where it stops.

The media will constantly refer to him as right wing Conservative John McCain. Try informing people what Conservatism truly stands for after four or eight years of this rat bastard’s rule.

“Oh, it doesn’t stand for that. Look at John McCain, he didn’t stand for that at all.” Good luck with that.

Ben, those who have been pushing comprhensive immigration reform will get everything they want out of the McCain administration in 2009. That’s my take on it.

At that point the Democrats and enough Republicans push it through without serious opposition. Oh there will be loud voices, but the Democrats and sell-out Republicans will pass it with ease.

I appreciate the points you made.

I’m not sure what form the worker permits will take, but I’m not opposed to the idea that the whole thing will be scammed to make it the worst for our nation that it could be.

And it will happen on our watch.

Whatever John does will be attributed to Conservatives. Not only will he be hated for what he does, but Conservatism will wind up being hated for what he does.

John is going to do more damage to Conservatism in four years, than the Democrats were able to do to it in 50.

I understand your thoughts and I’m certainly not FOR McCain but I am against Obama much more, I still believe he’d be far worse far sooner.

Interesting points.

Even though McCain has to realize the severe damage amnesty will do to this country and that his support of it will cost him votes, he has - like a brainwashed man or a fanatic - stuck with promoting this agenda. Too often he has become confused or left the impression of being medicated.

A lot of folks agree with you.

Good luck telling folks what Conservatism truly stands for, after four years of the ultra-Conservative (how the press will label him) John McCain’s administration.

I’d like to be able to blame it in medication, but I think it’s much more sinister than that.

He promised us in May that we’ll get Roberts. In June promised the left they’d get Ginsbergs and Breyers.

This guy is a shameless panderer. What does he really stand for? Honestly, I don’t know.

Is he for the ICC? He has advocated for it, but seems not to think it needs some tweaking, but we should still sign on. Is he for the LOST treaty? He has advocted for it, but seems to think it needs to be tweaked too. As late as this spring he was still on board explaining that it would bring order to the high seas.

This guy is a loose cannon. What’s worse, is that he will be leading our cause. That’s the end of our cause IMO.

"America is just waking up. Late indeed. But most definitely awake."

As the old adage goes, dark clouds often have silver linings. The biggest dark cloud looming over the nation today is the economy. Energy costs have much to do with this, but the biggest toll is seen in jobs lost. As Americans are put out of work, they will be looking elsewhere. The longer they are out of work, the harder they will scrutinize who is holding current jobs. Americans will increasingly become intolerable toward companies that employ illegal aliens. If the bad economic times deepen, the stage will be set for a classic battle between politicians offering up amnesty, and/or being tolerant of illegal aliens on the one side, and Americans needing work on the other, with the vast support of the American population.

I see another glimmer of hope on the horizon that is worth mentioning. The recent Supreme Court decision on a citizen's right to bear arms created a major wedge issue in the Democratic Party. Too many people assume all Democrats are liberals. This particular ruling, and the stand against illegal immigration some Democratic Senators took when Bush/McCain/Kennedy tried to shove amnesty onto the nation means the old conservative guard of the Democratic Party still has life in it. I see the possibility of the Democratic Party splitting one day with a majority of their members creating a new conservative party and leaving the extreme liberals members to whither on the vine.

As for McCain, I could never vote for him.

"We stand to gain 100 million new citizens within ten to twelve years. Poor, unable to speak read or write English, unable to support themselves... good luck citizens"
____________________________________________________________

"100 million new citizens..."

That's right. They reproduce like flies, unlike Americans. And every last one of them would have been an Obrador voter back in Mexico, ie. a communist voter.

"Poor..."

We're already heavily taxed to support their every need, from medical care to schooling. Compared to what they had in Mexico, they're wealthy here. Agriculture, construction, restaurants, landscaping, you name it -- they're preferentially hired because they work cheap, don't rock the boat and know how to make that dollar stretch.

"...unable to speak read or write English..."

They won't need to. In 2 generations, they will own us. Spanish will become the official language -- all because Americans wanted cheap labor and were too lazy to defend their own soil against this invasion.

    It's over.

I do believe our nation will be irrevocably harmed by McCain’s Comprehensive Immigration reform. We will be handing this nation off to the citizens of another nation.

What you say is obviously well thought out and possible. Every time I hear that word "comprehensive" my blood pressure goes up. I'm surprised they haven't switched to a different weasel word to try to further cover up their plans.

Anyway, I think most of us will continue to oppose, hopefully enough to be the "loud minority" that gets these corrupt critters to listen. Supposedly, AZ's illegal population is starting to pack up and leave because of Sheriff Joe and others simply enforcing the law, but it's talk, not statistics. When the critters say they can't enforce current law, they lie. If a sheriff can do it, so can they.

For the nation’s sake, I hope you’re right. We really are at a tipping point IMO. We’ll see how it goes. I appreciate the follow-up comments.

Take care.

"We will be handing this nation off to the citizens of another nation."

It's a fait accompli. The democrats and the GOP are agreed on this. They both want as many illegals in this country as possible, as soon as possible and they want them all voting. America is now nothing more than Mexico's trash can. Doesn't matter who you vote for, because it's a done deal.
