Two questions,
1. Did the guy pay his FFL tax on those silencers? If not, throw another charge on him.
2. The thief must have known that it was rigged for a bomb. That’s why he called authorities. Knowing that, why in the heck would you be getting in and driving it? For all he knew, it was going to go off while he was in it. Criminals are so stupid!!
yup! compstat sure made it worthwhile to fudge those complaint reports and artificially deflate crime statistics...
if true and there are alternate side rules, it would be 100% impossible for a car to sit there for 5 months. traffic agents can tow a car with even a single ticket on the windshield. so can the marshals in certain circumstances.
Interesting.
Can't deflate homicides and rapes, and the resulting headlines, which is what most people look out for.
there is much more oversight now and it is much harder to fudge, but back in the hayday it was SOP.
with the hiring practices now and the pay of the NYPD, it will only get worse. we may hit less than 30,000 in a few years.
