“i can’t even imagine what his wife sees in him.”
Well, could it possibly be $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and celebrity to some degree? Does anyone imagine that there would be the same result if Arnold hadn’t been a rich Hollywood star?
Oh, I know the Kennedy name is synonymous with “money”, but I wonder whether or not there are so many of them that the initial load of dough left by their patriarchs has been diluted somewhat. However, the “Kennedy” name is a commodity in itself (dubious in my opinion), so marrying Fort Knox is always an option for anyone with even a drop of the Kennedy blue blood in their veins.
I remember years ago while vacation in Sun Valley, I saw Arnold driving around in a Humvee.
You people don’t understand. Cars like this are necessary for a guy who hires a private guard for his cowboy boots while he’s staying at the Hyatt across from the Capitol in Sacramento. Now get back into your Yugos and shut up.
Wow! I thought I knew my Charger cinema. So V. Point was a Challenger? Thanks for the tip.
I thought the same thing until I noticed that the article was written by a Brit-he probably should get a pass, everything that’s not(or was) a British Leyland all looks the same.
This was my position for a while, until I read what CS Lewis had to say about the sin of Pride. The elites' lifestyle isn't going to change if the rest of us continue our lifestyle, and most of them know it. They just want there to be a huge difference, because that fuels their pride.
Vanishing Point featured a Challenger, not a Charger.
Huh? Uh, no ... it's similar to a 1970 Dodge Challenger.
well, I hope it means he is a fan of musclecars enough to let them keep being sold in California.
I worry greatly about horsepower and the end of the second musclecar era.
Just to further complicate the issue, the made for TV remake of Vanishing Point had both a Challenger and a Charger.
The 70/71 Challenger was the sister car to the 70/71 Plymouth Barracuda. Slightly different body style except the Challenger had 4 headlights instead of the 2 on the Cuda. The Cuda also had a much “tougher” looking rear end than the “wussy” looking Challenger rear end.
I’m shocked at that crappy mileage. My 2500 Suburban (454, 6” lift, 36” tires) gets 13 MPG.
“America is so addicted to oil it will take us years to wean ourselves from it, and to look for new ways to feed our addiction is not the answer.”
No concept of reality at all. A totally useless human being who can only do damage.
The actual number seems to be lost to history, but near as I can tell there was either 4 or 5 440 4 barrel cars and one 383 automatic. One of the 440 cars was immediately cut in half for certain camera angles. The 383 car did the towing of the Camaro into the dozers. The rest were beaten to death shooting the movie.
There were no survivors.
Chrysler made sure of that. Word has it that Mother Mopar was so upset by the nudity and the drugs in the movie that they took the cars back and smashed them so that they would not end up in any auto shows.
