The Blonde News Channel
Bob Parks: Black & Right ^ | 6/28/08 | Bob Parks

It's becoming more and more difficult to watch the Fox News Channel during the daytime, and I say this sadly as a Fox Broadcasting Company (Los Angeles) alumnus.

While Fox News remains the most-watched cable news channel over all — it has been attracting an average of nearly 2 million viewers each weeknight this year, compared to 1.3 million for CNN and 805,000 for MSNBC — its momentum has effectively stalled, at least when measured over years past.
It would appear, FNC is trying to have it all. Show the guys some leg, give us some hard-hitting news as it happens, while also dumbing it down with girly fluff pieces aimed at soap opera refugee housewives. Frankly speaking, it's becoming quite obnoxious. The only other place you'll see so many chatty blondes is the Playboy Mansion.

Well, technically speaking, they’re not all real blondes.

It’s funny to watch the blondes on fox, then try to figure out what the people at cnn are. it’s always a guessing game.

LOL. A very timely piece as I was discussing with the friends this morning the fact that Fox has become more and more unwatchable.

It is exactly as you have described it.

I have to admit, I stopped watching them. Course I don't watch any news any more, its all so filled with irrelevant fluff.... I get my news off the Internet now, where at lease I can research stuff my self that doesn't pass the smell test. I have to say, I am a happier person because of it.

Thanks, Bahbah.

I thought I’d be viewed as nitpicking and sexist.

Fox News is the one place that when something really important is happening, you can get the latest news about the Natalee Holloway murder investigation.

I disagree. The blondes on Fox are still smarter than MSDNC’s resident blonde, Chris Matthews, Keith Ughermann, and CNN’s self-important but totally dense brunettes.

I stopped being able to tolerate Fox several years ago.

As far as I can tell, practically every person at any given news station is a complete and total, self-important moron.

I'm absolutely in love with Megyn Kelly, but it's really hard to watch her on the morning show: She seems so "school-girl-ish." On the other hand, I love her when she puts Bill O in his place. She's a smart, intelligent, witty, opinionated, gorgeous woman, and I like her much better like that than the gigging girl she seems to play in the mornings.

I'm noticing not only are they going blonde, and that ain't all bad, but they have headed to the left very hard. It has gotten to the point, I thought I was watching the Barack Hussein Obama network. BTW, Fox & Friends, which I really liked to watch in the morning with Kilmeade, Doocy and ED, has gone to the ridiculous as well. The new blonde, “allegedly” Gretchen, drives me crazy!

Heck if that is the case the Democrats should be chastised for having all ugly women. Maybe you would rather have Helen Thomas and Madeline Halfbright.

All of the dumb ones on FNC are not blonde. Neither Geraldo or Hannity or Fred Barnes is blonde.

Obviously from your remarks you’re still watching and that’s all they care about.

I agree with you 100%. I really miss ED Hill. On Fox & Friends she was able to play off of Brian and Steve really well, and she was also able to be a more serious minded interviewer. And quite a tough one at times. I remember a number of times that people she interviewed tried to "get over on her," and ED wasn't about to let them off the hook!

One other thing I've noticed: F&F should actually be titled "Commercial Breaks, occasionally interrupted by news flashes, alerts, and notices of commercial breaks, and friends."

but they have headed to the left very hard.

FNC has become the defacto McCain campaign headquarters.

To me, Megyn Kelly is so drop-dead beautiful that I can't concentrate on anything she says.

You say she does the news, huh? ;)

She's a corker, isn't she? Half the time she acts as someone had just punched her between the eyes, and the other half of the time she acts as if she's understudying Diane Sawyer (which is definitely not a compliment). And her impeccable thighs aside (which we see way too much of), she's just not very bright. Of course, ED Hill was a tough act to follow.
