And of course, once this woman was released from the hospital with her broken jaw, she was promptly arrested and charged with interfering with a government official. It took a jury less than an hour to declare her not guilty.

I’d be so banned if I wrote what’s on my mind.

What was with this cop?

If I have a bad day... you might get locked out of your computer for a while. If HE has a bad day... you get body slammed. How people respond depends on what tools are available. We give cars, guns, and money to the police. What can we expect?

BTW, as an ethical sysadmin, I never(ALMOST) lock people out of their computers for personal spite.

The initial office did the right thing. Walk the woman away so the EMT's could do what they needed to do.

If it was my niece I would have wanted to be near her too. Not sure of the second officer. Definitely over reaction. I take it he did not know the EMT's were working on her niece.

I had a similar experience when my brother was involved in an accident. The police were keeping people away, and one of his friends kept on going near the car to see if he was okay.

I was standing near the officer and when he told him, if you come over here again you will be in cuffs, I gently told his friend, "Come on _________, let the EMT's do what they have to do.

He walked away with me without giving the police one more problem.

I especially like the part where the cops lawyer says that the video doesn't show his state of mind at the time of the incident./SAR

Video clearly shows she was not interfering with the EMTs and was causing no trouble, according to her people, but the scumbag lawyer is talking about state of mind as if this was some highly stressful situation. I would also like to know "his state of mind", because only an arrogant fruitloop would do this to someone whose relative was lying on the floor being treated for a head injury.

Simoes then approaches the woman, shoves her shoulder, and, after she apparently objects to being touched, suddenly grabs her from behind and throws her to the floor.

Sounds like an assault to me.

Well, there you go. She objected. Guilty! Lock her up!

My ethics prevent me disclosing that information.

Google BOFH for background.
