Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell, the minister who presided over the recent marriage of President Bushs daughter Jenna, has launched a pro-Barack Obama Web site sharply critical of conservative stalwart James Dobson.
Caldwell, leader of the largest Methodist congregation in the country, launched his James Dobson Does Not Speak For Me site a day after Dobsons Focus on the Family radio program aired a statement charging that Obama distorted the Bible to fit his own confused theology.
The site urges readers to sign a statement declaring that Dobson does not represent them.
The statement reads in part:
James Dobson doesn't speak for me.
He doesn't speak for me when he uses religion as a wedge to divide.
He doesn't speak for me when he speaks as the final arbiter on the meaning of the Bible

The Bushes obviously need to find a new church.
Bushs’ Fault!
This should come as no surprise. Jenna is reaching out to people who will be nice on the surface, but will really never accept her.
Any more than you speak for me, numbn*ts.
Its called an opinion, clearly something leftists, methodists and otherwise, have difficulty tolerating.
It’s a black thing.
... and at least Dobson’s opinions are scripturally defensible.
IF,IF, IF, this man gets into office, WE WILL deserve what WE GET!!!!!!!God Bless America.
This guy is out of Houston, not exactly a Crawford local.....how the heck did Jenna find him?

Does the Bush family even know a conservative?

Not since 6/5/04.
He doesn’t speak for me when he speaks as the final arbiter on the meaning of the Bible ”
But, Reverend Caldwell, weren’t there some specific theological statements and questions that Obama and Dobson had their exchange about? Maybe you could enlighten us concerning your views on those specifics, rather issuing such a sweeping and highly unspecific statement.
Do the Bushes really go to this church? They display nothing but white people on every single one of their web pages!!
I thought the Bushes would be more inclusive.
But Obama's record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion -- a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called "too close to infanticide." Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed that he would not want his daughters to be "punished with a baby" because of a crisis pregnancy -- hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life.
Why on earth would anyone think Jenna picked him?
How much churchgoing in Houston has she done in the last eight years?
We all either forgot or tried to suppress the fact that we elected the least offensive liberal in the 2000 race. We may not even be that fortunate in 2008.
Dobson, Caldwell, nor Obama speak for me.
