Barack Obama has a new television ad that is playing in a number of states:
In the ad, Obama claims credit for three pieces of legislation. In one case, the claim is reasonable. The other two are bogus.
Obama says that "I... cut taxes for working families," citing Illinois Public Act: PA 91-0700, the Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit of 2000. Given the collaborative nature of any legislation, Obama's claim that "I cut taxes" is pretentious at best. As it happens, though, Obama was only a minor player with respect to the Earned Income Tax Credit Act. In fact, he was not one of the bill's chief sponsors. He signed on as one of 37 co-sponsors on April 15, 2000, shortly before the act was signed into law on May 11.
In the ad, Obama also claims that "I extended health care for wounded troops who had been neglected." Wow, that's quite an accomplishment for a single Senator. The ad cites Public Law 110-181, the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act. Funny thing, though: Obama didn't show up to vote on that bill in the Senate. So it's hard to see how Obama can take credit for having personally "extended health care for wounded troops."
But that's Obamaworld--the facts are optional.

The problem is that his supporters don’t care.
Obama’s small reputation in Illinois politics, such as it is, is due to his claiming credit (with the blessing of the local Bosses) to legislation which was the work of several others—it was just handed over to him, because he had “the touch”, he was the one who needed to be promoted. This Obama phenomenon has had a long road paved for it, it was no wildfire in the grassroots everyone thinks it is.

Still not gonna vote for him.
Got too much of a problem with the truth.
When I read this working family nonsense, and the haloed one is only the most recent to use the phrase, I conclude that they mean some sort of unit that will be given tax dollars taken from me to reward them for being poor. I suppose a family with an income of 125K doesn't work for it.
Guess Obama missed a lot of votes. He may have missed some while doing other things. Watch the video below and decide if you think Larry Sinclair is telling the truth. I do.

(Video takes a minute to load and is about 45 minutes long.)
Yeah, and the rest of us don't believe a word coming out of his mouth. So he's a guy that can say or do anything and nothing would change.
He means hard-working people like ditch diggers, tomato pickers and welfare recipients. You know as well as I do that any white-collar slacker making more than 70k per year doesn’t really work...right? They are the oppressors I think. I still have to figure out this class warfare thing.
It means that single taxpayers, as is ALWAYS the case, will get nothing and be forced to help make up ther difference.
Sadder yet is that his supporters don't even understand how legislation is done.
John ‘I didn’t accomplish much during my 29 years in the Senate’ Kerry tried the same things.
He credited himself with several actions/legislation that was actually done by others. John got confused and must have thought he was Bob KerrEy, because he claimed credit for a couple of things actually accomplished by Bob KerrEy.
I guess you didn't get the memo from Obamini... rich folks "steal" money...
