I’ve open carried on occasion while visiting Arizona, more for the experience than anything else. However, I normally prefer to carry concealed there. Living in San Diego, I can’t legally do either in my home state.

It's about a couple in LA who open carry.
From what I understand, it is legal, your unalienable constitutional right, to openly carry a sidearm anywhere in the United States of America. Just not enough FReepers doing it, so it seems unusual. But it is completely legal, and you don't need any special permit to do so, as you would with a concealed weapon. So, let's strap one on!
In California if you live in a county with less than 100,000 people you can carry openly. Used to be you could carry anywhere. Also, if you are fishing, anywhere in CA, you can carry concealed without a CCW.
