Living in San Diego, I can’t legally do either in my home state.

It's about a couple in LA who open carry.
From what I understand, it is legal, your unalienable constitutional right, to openly carry a sidearm anywhere in the United States of America. Just not enough FReepers doing it, so it seems unusual. But it is completely legal, and you don't need any special permit to do so, as you would with a concealed weapon. So, let's strap one on!

I agree with you.

The courts, however, do not at this time.

Try that in New York, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, and a hundred other cities in this country and then let us know how that "inalienable constitutional right" turns out.

Once you dig the gravel out from between your front teeth and they take off your cuffs you'll have to use both hands to call an expensive lawyer and open your wallet wide for bail money - if you're lucky enough to be allowed bail.
