Did you hear Savage’s comments about the minimum wage! Yeah, minimum wage works really well....look at France with their 35 hr/week workweek. They have double digit unemployment.

Savage is not a conservative on this issue.

Savage is saying that you can’t just drop the bottom out of the wage part of the equation. Otherwise they’ll just issue work visas for bangladeshis and replace everyone for $1/day. We’d end up with 1880’s style sweatshops. Conservativism isn’t one stark end of a spectrum, otherwise you have cushy over-inflated artificial wages on one end, and virtual slave labor on the other. By the way, ever noticed how “minimum wages” are always paid to government officials? The president himself has a “minimum wage”. No one questions it.

Savage has problems with true conservative concepts of free-market economies and politically-free judiciary. Basic economics teaches that wage and/or price controls restricts and reduces supply (in this case minimum wage lessens the supply of jobs).
