Rapid City, S.D. (AP) --
As Barack Obama turns to concentrate on his general election challenge, his rival Hillary Rodham Clinton is mounting a last ditch campaign to stay relevant in what is left of the Democratic presidential contest.
The former first lady enters this week with an insurgent strategy not only to win over undecided superdelegates but to peel away Obama's support from those party leaders and elected officials who already have committed to back him for the nomination.
"One thing about superdelegates is that they can change their minds," she told reporters aboard her campaign plane Sunday night.
Obama displays no signs of worry, pivoting toward his new contest with Republican John McCain and responding to Clinton with a shrug. And some of Clinton's own backers are saying the time is near for her to fall in behind him.
Obama, campaigning in Mitchell, S.D., confidently predicted Clinton "is going to be a great asset when we go into November."
"Whatever differences Senator Clinton and I may have, those differences pale in comparison to the other side," he said.

Obama, ...confidently predicted Clinton "is going to be a great asset when we go into NovemberHe's half right.
Pale? Did he mean to say that outloud?! /sarc
The Dems have put themselves between “Barak and a hard place”. They are screwed. Rush has had very angry dems call him today.
Hillary has only one possible strategy left. She needs to show the super delegates that Obama is not electable in the general election. She can do that with polling but, more likely, it will involve politically crippling Obama with opposition research.
That is really the only card she has left.
Ok. So it wasn't that hard to predict.
Well nothing is official until the votes are cast at the convention.
So in a sense that part of the campaign is fair game. Doubly so sense a hard core RAT super’s word is probably not worth that much anyway.
Death throes.
Gotta love how the Clintoons always have themselves as the first priority. They live for power and they cannot accept it not coming their way. Billy seems rather jealous and thrown off by the lovefest he had going to Obama. But I do love that she will continue to drag this on and destroy her own. Good job Shrillery!
Boma should go after Hillary’s super delegates. They may be waiting for an inducement to jump her sinking ship.
Will she be taking a halloween pumpkin with her when she goes “begging???” Is THIS what anyone would want for the leader of our country? Wow...she IS desperate.
Too bad that Obama was some nobody whose FBI file (if any) wasn’t worth pulling back when Her Heinous had the chance.
She will probably not concede, but plan on spending the next 5 months ginning up a scandal to ruin Obama. Maybe find his Gennifer Flowers. Maybe his drug connection. Something. Doesn’t have to be true, any fake but accurate scandal will suffice.
She still has five months to convince people “He can’t win!”
Whether anyone in the Demodog party or their OldMedia press agents care to admit it, the superdelegates are NEVER absolutely committed to ANY candidate UNTIL THEY VOICE THEIR VOTE at the Demodog convention. Hitlery can lobby ALL of these superdelegates right up until that hour, and I believe she will be able to sway more “committed to SnObama” toward supporting her during the next months than SnObama will be successful in changing those now supporting her.
ONLY one time counts here - it is now what any of those lying scumbags say now - it is ONLY when they vote at the Convention. So, Ignore these counts by SnObamas press sycophants.
I will not be at all surprised if Hitlery works for those votes right up until that day. In fact, I would not be surprised to see her orchestrate a day that a full score or so of “SnObama’s superdelegates’ abandon him en masse.
She can work all she wants, but Obama would have to be completely discredited for her to succeed.
Not that that’s impossible!
