I am in no way condoning statutory rape. However, I'm not sure this guy should be punished so harshly as: 1) This girl was explicitly portraying herself as 18; and 2) She has a history of doing this.

I'm not sure a good slap on the wrist to the man, and a harder slap on the girl, might not have been the appropriate response here.

Why are the girls parents making excuses for her? Why is she still on the computer? Why is she still staying out all hours? You ask me, its her parents that need to be facing the jail time.. their lack of parenting has directly contributed to the delinquency of a minor.

I’m sorry, but this is entrapment. The man was NOT knowingly doing anything illegal. The father hasn’t reigned in his daughter and *HE* should be in trouble for being a neglectful parent.

He better get out on appeal.
