BOSTON (AP) -- Dunkin' Donuts has pulled an online advertisement featuring Rachael Ray after complaints that a fringed black-and-white scarf that the celebrity chef wore in the ad offers symbolic support for Muslim extremism and terrorism.
The coffee and baked goods chain said the ad that began appearing online May 7 was pulled over the past weekend because "the possibility of misperception detracted from its original intention to promote our iced coffee."
In the spot, Ray holds an iced coffee while standing in front of trees with pink blossoms.
Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin complained that the scarf wrapped around her looked like a kaffiyeh, the traditional Arab headdress. ''The kaffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men that has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad,'' Malkin wrote in her syndicated column.

What’s the big deal- I lke Starbucks,anyway.
I tell ya, Michelle Malkin sometimes goes a little overboard. Here’s another example.
Paranoia gone wild.
Rachel hasn’t shown any political extremeist tendencies on her shows that I’ve noticed. I think Michelle was stretching on this one.
Why do you need to wear a scarf in short sleeves, when it’s also obviously springtime (note the blossoming dogwood in the background.)
Nevermind that it’s also probably in a studio somewhere.
That said, I don’t even see what the big deal is with that scarf.
I don’t get it. It just looks like a scarf to me. Kinda ugly actually, but I never would have seen anything political about it if Malkin hadn’t brought it up. Sheesh, take a vacation Michelle.
Sounds like Michelle might be a little envious of RR.
Other than sharing the colors - black and white - I see no resemblance. I wear black and white a great deal - black is slimming :-)
Malkin would be the first to mock Palestinians for insta-rage reactions to innocent gestures. She is a dangerous idiot.
Dunkin Cover!
Incoming confused conservative political correctness!
If Ray has a sense of humor (I don’t watch her), she should get some mileage out of this on her show . . . as will Malkin’s opponents.
You are exactly correct.

I don’t get it either. This might be one of the few times that I am disappointed in MM’s overreaction.
All I see is a scarf, period.
MM is starting to sound like those anti-war, BDS-induced moonbats who look at everything as Bush’s fault, but in reverse.
This has got to be one of the screwiest things I’ve ever heard. Next we will hear someone pulling an ad because someone was wearing a cross necklace and the cross offended some dipstick because the KKK burns crosses and they think the person wearing the necklace in the ad had to be supporting the KKK because they were wearing it. Geesh, it’s just a freaking scarf!
the scarf should have been pulled for just being ugly
it looks like the rag I dry the car with
I really like Michelle Malkin
But on this one Im balking.
Rays showing skin,
A Muslim sin
Michelle, get real and stop squawking!
