“Aides said Tuesday that his grandmother’s brother, Charlie Payne, helped liberate a Buchenwald sub-camp in April 1945 as part of the 89th Infantry Division.”

Bingo!! That’s a good one. The lazy reporter in the previous article did not state in his article that he got that information from Obama’s aides. Well, I’m really going to be waiting to hear his “excuse”. I think I already know it. Well, uncle Chuck always told us this story, I assumed it was true....
“Senator Obama’s family is proud of the service of his grandfather and uncles in World War II - especially the fact that his great uncle was a part of liberating one of the concentration camps at Buchenwald,”
ALL Americans who serve in WWII liberated the camps. They crushed Nazi Germany. They battled the Fascists in Italy. And they ended Japanese imperialism.
It was a team effort. Not the work of one man or one troop.
Perhaps since they have so many relatives i.e. Cheny, someone who was part of the liberation could be related.
He could call him his long lost Uncle . I'm sure the MSM will play ball.
