CHICAGO - The percentage of American children who are overweight or obese appears to have leveled off after a 25-year increase, according to new figures that offer a glimmer of hope in an otherwise dismal battle.

"That is a first encouraging finding in what has been unremittingly bad news,'' said Dr. David Ludwig, director of an obesity clinic at Children's Hospital Boston. "But it's too soon to know if this really means we're beginning to make meaningful inroads into this epidemic. It may simply be a statistical fluke.''

In 2003-04 and 2005-06, roughly 32 percent of children were overweight or obese, according to a study by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Not to worry, Osama Obama says we don’t need to eat so much here in America. Liberals will cure whatever ailments they think Americans have whether or not you like their brand of medicine or not. Our Constitution, our freedom, whatever it is a Liberal will destroy it in the name of feeling good and power over the peons.

That is a relief as obesity causes global warming.

obesity causes global warming

As well as cigarettes, guns, tax cuts, military spending, talk radio, capitalism, public displays of religion... lots of things cause it.

Eggzakley! There was some bimbo on Fox News yesterday, could have been on Cavuto, that was blabbering that exact same mantra! She had no clue as to what she was saying!

The way I figure is that the politically correct worry warts have no time for an obesity plague when we’ve got global warming on the front burner.

Pity the poor polar bears! Fat kids are so passe! That was yesterday’s story.

Oh, a statistical fluke. That’s sorta like a fat chance.

Osama Obama says we don’t need to eat so much here in America.

Every time I think of that statement I have to laugh, and then my head spins around. How in the world can people rationalize voting for this communist?

I have never met a fat homeschooled child who has been homeschooled from the beginning.

Since homeschooling is so efficient, homeschoolers have a **lot** more time to be outside playing, burning up calories, and building strong bones and muscles. Also, the moms are home to cook nutritious meal, control the TV and video games, and see that the kids aren't sneaking snacks in between meals.

Obesity epidemic in U.S. kids may have peaked
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This may be true. As homeschooling grows, the number of obese kids will decrease. ( See post #17)
