Any idea how much the Church spends annually feeding, clothing, healing, educating and burying the poor?
True, the Church could make trillions by selling all its artwork that it has acquired over the ages, but it won’t do that. Rather, the Church sees that it has a historical responsibility to preserve it for future generations. Because of the Vatican we have some of the best examples of Greco-Roman sculpture in the world, they have preserved that legacy.
Yes, its called the Scavi.

NYer ~ The Catholic Church ... also has an obligation, like any other institution, to preserve historical monuments.
Any organization? islam consistently destroys all that came before. I believe they view this as their obligation.
