I think you are 100% correct. I honestly believe that racism, today, does not exist in any virulent form except in the communities of protected status minorities. I also believe that the vast majority of Americans will accept anyone - anyone - as long as they are playing on the same page. In fact, even exotics like flagrant, even flaming, gays are accepted - IF - they are willing to be accepted on the basis of their own merit.

Once a person takes on the victimology playbook, all bets are off. Special status gnaws at the very nature of all REAL Americans and creates the same kind of resentment of privilege and bias that compelled our ancestors to seek freedom here, in America, in the first place.
