[Connecticut] Senate Passes Global Warming Bill

The [Connecticut] state Senate has given final legislative approval to a bill aimed at reducing the pollution that causes global warming.

Senators voted 35-0 in favor of the legislation and sent it to Gov. M. Jodi Rell. The House of Representatives approved it earlier. If she signs it into law, Connecticut will be the fifth state to adopt mandatory limits on global warming pollution. The state passed legislation back in 2004. But that law, which established benchmarks for air pollution reduction, was voluntary.

The new bill would require total emissions to be capped at 10 percent below 1990 levels by 2020. It would also require emissions levels to be cut 80 percent below 2001 levels by 2050. State agencies would be required to adopt policies to meet the new caps.

Why am I increasingly reminded of Atlas Shrugged? The government keeps impeding bussiness and raising taxes and bussiness leaves leaving the state worse than it was before.

This global warming crap is just a way for the government to move in on private money.

Sounds like the I.Q.s of Connecticut’s “senators” aren’t very high. Most people have already started figuring out that the Goracle’s “global warming” scam is a hoax being perpetrated against the people of the United States in order to make Gore and his buddies rich.

They're talking about setting emission levels for 40 years in the future?!?! Are these people insane? Most of these clowns can't look more than 40 days into the future. I guess it's easier to solve the problems of the world than it is to solve the problems of you own state.

Maybe the business Atlas’s need to shrug right on out of Connecticut.

Screw this idiocy—get out and let the little socialist utopia get what it deserves.

Well, boy, I'm sure glad that they're acting on the most current data; gosh, next week, I betcha they'll notice that the arctic ice pack is back to normal and the antarctic pack is above the 30 year average.

Huh? Oh, right, the measurement system needs to be ‘adjusted’ to reflect ‘the reality of observations’ just like the sea leave and surface temp data's been corrupted.

One can't fight king environmentalism - there's just too much money to be earned.

And how is this going to Impact Connecticut's major employer Pratt and Whitney?

Does this effect their plants or the product?

If it is the product, they have really shot themselves in the foot.

Beautiful country and many friends their, but I do not miss the epistemological-political lunacy of that part of the country at all......

One would hope that as global cooling becomes an established fact in a few years these morons will admit to their mistakes. They won’t and the unintended consequences of their foolish actions will take years to rectify.
