That a right-wing-blog would impugn my patriotism because I said children should learn to read, and could get better jobs by doing so, is beneath contempt. Noel Sheppard says, Nice sentiment when the nation is at war, Stephen. I guess he feels ignorance and illiteracy are OK when the country needs cannon-fodder. I guess he also feels that the war in Iraq has nationwide approval. Well, it doesnt have mine. It is a waste of national resources. . . and that includes the youth and blood of the 4,000 American troops who have lost their lives there and for the tens of thousands who have been wounded. I live in a national guard town, and I support our troops, but I dont support either the war or educational policies that limit the options of young men and women to any one careermilitary or otherwise. If you agree, find Sheppard on the internet, and send him an email:
Except that's not what you said Steve-o
You can try and twist and spin your words anyway you want Mr. King but what you in effect said was that if you are illiterate you can join the U.S. Armed forces, a completely unsupportable contention BTW, thereby conveying the message that the courageous young men and women in our military are only there because they are to stupid to get a "real" job.
Yet another Liberal Elitist with "delusions of relevance".
I question King’s patriotism - in fact, I’d have to say I see NO evidence for his self proclaimed patriotism at all. Like most lefties, they’re always huffing and puffing when challenged about their obvious lack of national pride and support for traditional ideals. Somehow, socialist agendas just don’t seem to be good material for old-fashioned flag waving. Wanting good things for kids has nothing to do with national pride and simply desiring to foist utopian idiocy on a nation at war is no kind of patriotism unless you actually favor the enemies of your nation and owe your civic allegiance to killers and psychopaths.
If there’s going to be another muzzie attack on US soil, here’s hoping it’s epicenter is King’s oh-so-patriotic homestead.
“I guess he feels ignorance and illiteracy are OK when the country needs cannon-fodder.”
I’d like to see him explain to someone in the service of our country that they’re “cannon fodder” and too dumb to realize it.
Oh, so he's a lying snake to boot!
Imagine if he had said, he supports the Police but he doesn't support Police methods and procedures or the policies that limit the options of young men and women to any one careerpolice or otherwise, or he supports Doctors but he doesn't support Medical Science or the policies that limit their career options.
He shows his ass, not his patriotism!
