STATEN ISLAND, Ny., April 30 /Christian Newswire/ -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today urged Christians to participate in tomorrow's 57th Annual National Day of Prayer, and to include the unborn in their prayers.
"On this National Day of Prayer, we turn to God in Jesus' Name, and His blessing on our nation, our leaders, and our fellow citizens. Moreover, we pray for an end to the most pervasive form of violence, that which occurs against children in the womb."

I am pro-life. Over the years as this debate continues, both my husband and I; in our personal and our academic lives, have written on our common position on this subject. Right now, we do not have equal protection under the law as guaranteed to us by our Constitution as long as children are being aborted.
The following is a summation of my family’s principals and my political views:
We have to respect and protect all human life: To each individual their life is sacred. As a people, to begin to pass judgment or sentence on human life by age, quality, position or potential has the effect of placing a price or a measure on what can only be deemed a gift from our creator.
However, there is a paradox of life and rights:
Our rights as a people for individual-self-government are based upon the uniqueness of human life with rights granted by 'nature's God,' which in turn are protected by our Constitution.
One must follow the other, or else the entire argument of human rights becomes based on man's opinion.
Either life with rights is given at the same time that life begins or we have no rights beyond which other men or governments are willing to allow us.
If we as a people do not respect the sacred notion of human LIFE how can we expect to have respect for RIGHTS that are dependent upon the concept of human LIFE itself?
Any society of free individuals that diminishes the value of one human life from another risks its very existence.

They DID remember, though, that today was the "International Day of Labor" (or Communist's celebration).
Maybe we ought to remind our local stations, in a Christian manner, that today is a National Day of Prayer, and maybe THAT deserves some coverage if they're also going to cover a holiday perpetuated by an atheist philosophy.
You can try, I doubt it will matter though.

The shame of this horrible sin seems incomprehensible, and yet day after day, year after year, we continue to allow the slaughter of innocents in this nation. Our hearts bear this burden as we hear the lies of those who consider this a precious right for American women. How despicable to call the destruction of human life a "right!"
Dear Lord, forgive us. We confess our sin. We have grown complacent, even at times reluctant to put forth the energy to continue what seems a huge battle. And yet we know that you are on our side. If God before us, who can stand against us? Help us to continue to pray, steadfastly seeking Your power to work with us to change one heart at a time, one tiny portion of law at a time. And one by one may the bricks of this huge abortion industry be dismantled, and at long last, may it crumble in utter destruction. Be our strength and inspiration, Father, and by Your grace may we all see the day when our labors come to fruition. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Lord God, we thank You that You are a God to whom we can pray. We thank You for Your perfect plan. We thank You that You are Love which manifests in MERCY. Lord God, the many of us here on freerepublic and across this great land bow before You and ask for Your mercy for we have sinned. You promise if we will humble ourselves and pray and seek Your face that You will heal our land. Lord God, we cling to this promise. HEAL OUR LAND! We repent of the killing culture which has developed and commit to do whatever we can as individuals (in Your power) to restore a culture of life. But God, this will ONLY happen by Your power, by Your Spirit, by Your hand in our lives. King of kings and Lord of Lords, we know this is Your heart. We pray Your Spirit would invade our atmosphere, push out the enemy’s lies and do the work. We pray You would show each of us our part to play and empower us to get the job done.
