I’m really pleased to hear about this. Col. West is a great man IMHO. I hope he succeeds in this quest for office.

Lt. Col. Allen West would make a fine Congressman, but it’s going to be difficult for him to beat Klein in the FL-22. Kerry won the district by 52%-48% in 2004, and I’m not sure that a black conservative can run better than President Bush among Jewish voters and Florida retirees. I wish him Godspeed.

If Col. West doesn’t make it this year, perhaps the FL redistrictors could reconfigure the district, remove more of those pesky rodents and draw a nice seat for the DINO Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Jim Naugle (whom we could presumably get to switch parties) in 2012.

That's a tough district. I think Clay Shaw was on borrowed time anyway. It probably doesn't help that the name Klein there is like the name Kelly or O'Neil in South Boston.

Hastings district is to the west as is Wexler's. South is Wasserman-Schultz's district. North is Foley's old district, but that district wasn't THAT republican to begin with.

It's a longshot, but I'm glad someone's competing there, and the Col. in front of his name can't hurt. Hopefully, Jimmy Carter or someone like that campaigns down there for Klein.

Naugle was originally ours anyway, he just runs ‘rat to win, like a reverse Bloomberg. This used to be Clay Shaw’s seat, so West should have a good chance.
