WASHINGTON One of President Nixons daughters, Julie Nixon Eisenhower, apparently supports a Democrat in this years presidential contest Barack Obama. Eisenhower has contributed the maximum amount allowed during the primary season to Obamas campaign: $2,300. Federal Election Commission records show she gave Obamas campaign $1,000 on Feb. 4, another $1,000 on Feb. 18 and $300 on March 5. One of her fathers staunchest defenders during the Watergate scandal, she married the grandson of another Republican president, David Eisenhower, just before her father took office. Since her fathers resignation, she has written several books and is now co-chair of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Birthplace Foundation.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
The ghost of Milhous.
Shows you what a “little” college leftist liberalism is doing to the younger set.
Nixon was a Rockefeller Republican anyway.
This is surprising since I thought Julie was a strong Republican, who loved America. Maybe not.
“Shows you what a little college leftist liberalism is doing to the younger set.”
Let’s keep facts out of this.
I’d really like to know her reasoning. It doesn’t make sense.
Younger set? Julie Nixon Eisenhower will be 60 on July 5th.
_____
LOL. I turn 50 in less than a month. I’m part of the toddler set.
Since my Father served under Eisenhower, Is this supposed to influence me? “Well, Gee”! If that Marxist creep is good enough for Julie, he’s most certainly good enough for me”!
I honestly can’t see ANYONE voting for that guy because Julie backs him. Old, senile people?
Cool name: Julie Nixon Eisenhower! That would open few doors for ya!
C’mon. We have a democrat and two socialists running for president. Oh, yeah and Ralphy. It reads like a bad joke.

Whatever it takes to keep both candidates in the race, I guess...
Bothers me too.
My theory is that like her father, Julie thinks of herself as a practitioner of "Realpolitik," which is defined by thefreedictionary.com as
politics based on practical rather than moral or ideological considerations
Adopting "Realpolitik" enabled Richard Nixon to turn from being the fierce anti-communist of the '50s, to becoming a promoter of "detente" with the Soviet Union and a friend to communist China in the '70s.
“Let’s Win This One For Dick”
Like father, like daughter. Daddy was a liberal, a big government guy, so why shouldn’t she support Obama? Who cares?
“She probably hates Hilary because of Watergate.”
I always liked Tricia better anyway.
Maybe she will
Maybe she wants to make sure Hillary doesn’t get nominated in the primary
Bitch. She should burn in hell for the utter disgrace that she brings to the names of two great men.
Operation Chaos?
Many Repubs supported Obama in the primaries (Rush's "Operation"). Maybe she heard Rush and ran out to write a check to Abominobama.
Julie Nixon Eisenhower
This is interesting because Julie’s husband’s sister is Susan Eisenhower, and she’s for Obama too.....I wonder what’s going on with that family. I always thought Julie was sensible...

“Why I’m Backing Obama”
By Susan Eisenhower
Saturday, February 2, 2008
“Forty-seven years ago, my grandfather Dwight D. Eisenhower bid farewell to a nation he had served for more than five decades. In his televised address, Ike famously coined the term “military-industrial complex,” and he offered advice that is still relevant today.
My grandfather was pursued by both political parties and eventually became the Republican nominee. Despite being a charismatic war hero, he did not have an easy ride to the nomination.
He went on to win the presidency — with the indispensable help of a “Democrats for Eisenhower” movement. These crossover voters were attracted by his pledge to bring change to Washington and by the prospect that he would unify the nation.
It is in this great tradition of crossover voters that I support Barack Obama’s candidacy for president. If the Democratic Party chooses Obama as its candidate, this lifelong Republican will work to get him elected and encourage him to seek strategic solutions to meet America’s greatest challenges. To be successful, our president will need bipartisan help.”

Amazing, liberals can’t find anything nice to say about Nixon, but now that he’s long dead, they hold up these Nixonites as Obama’s crossover voters.
Hillarious.
I wonder how many of Obama’s relatives in Kansas, the typical white ones, will be voting for McCain?
Bet the MSM ignores each and every one of them.
I couldn’t stop thinking about this so I went to that site where you can find out who gives what to whom. The last time Julie gave money was in 2004 and she gave it to the RNC and Bush. The only thing that makes sense is that she hates Hillary so much, and knows how evil she is, that she wants to make sure she doesn’t get the nomination.
One thing we know, Julie loved her father...and what did we find out this year about what Hillary wanted to do to her Father. It’s the only thing that makes sense. She’s a Republican...Republicans like her don’t become Socialists overnight.
